Repeated for a full season that run of games would give us 79 points.

YAY!

That's some great ammunition to fire back to the mancs right there.

With regards to Johnson, I don't think he is a necessarily bad defender. I've seen him do a lot of good individual defensive work since he's been here and it seldom gets mentioned - but there's no doubt that collectively our unit has been more unstable with his inclusion. Its worth noting that our back four have been used to Finnan and Arbeloa, two extremely disciplined RB's and now they're playing with one of the most attacking minded in the game. The contrast is vast, and it will take time before we see a more unified defence featuring Johnson.

I did say when he arrived, however, that Johnson could be a brilliant RW if we'd give him the chance.

Buy a cheapish but solid RB in the summer and we'd be sorted on that flank. Now Rafa said he was 'prioritising' the RB position in January, he might be thinking along similar lines.

Did you post a pic too, Duck?

No Boss, I've just been watching your moral wranglings with intent and decided to make a sarcastic joke at your expense which, given your extremely modest and mature climbdown, was probably a bit of a low blow.

WWWDWDWWLD is our results in the league since losing to Portsmouth in december.
That is 10 games played, 6 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss.
If God approached you after the Pompey game and said "There, there, I'll let you get 21 of the next 30 points - or you can take your chances", would you take it?
If yes, then why the sad face?
Now no one can argue the fact that we have played some ugly negative football since then, but ultimately all I care about is getting good results.
And to me getting 21 out of 30 points is acceptable. If we can keep our current form going we will almost certainly get 4th.

I guess my point is that things are not as bad as this forum thinks.
With Torres, Benayoun and Johnson all coming back, we can afford to be optimistic.
Cheer up lads, sky isnt falling.

If God approached me after the Pompey game, I'd have an awful lot more to talk to him about before we got round to discussing Liverpool's next ten fixtures.....
what kind of a liverpool fan ARE you?
An avid one.

But surely there would be more pressing matters you would want to talk to him about?!?!?

1) What happens when we die?
2) How was the universe created and what does the future hold for the planet?
3) Does the posting of pictures of disabled children (even with a NSFW tag) on an internet forum have a bearing on my soul's ultimate destiny?
4) What do you shave your beard with?

Then I'd get round to football I think.

I was messing 🙂

With good reason I think Spidey. Playing attacking fullbacks has ruined the balance of the side and it's only really since Johnson has been injured that we've managed to get some stability at the back.
Would you shift Johnson to RM and then Kuyt up front with Torres then? Straight 442 with Gerrard and Mascherano in the middle with Riera/Aurelio/Babel for the left and Johnson/Maxi/Benayoun on the right. Plus several of those players can play other roles as necessary (Benayoun as 2nd/3rd striker).

I would. Gives us more balance and we have the ability to adapt / be flexible according to the game situation - ie push Gerrard up behind front two and leave Mascherano holding if we need to chase a game.

This one up front lark gives me nightmares.

Thats exactly how we should play Spion.
Thats not rocket science really.
Only your friend cant see it

You'd better check the OP's stats before delivering your broadside ;-)

Hopeful, not confident. Although I think we’ll both be ahead of Man City and Spurs.

WWDWWDWDDDW in all competitions since Torres well-taken goal in the dying seconds of our match at Villa Park. We have a chance.

Definitely. That's exactly what I had in mind.

We're an incredibly vulnerable side when we play both Insua and Johnson. Lot's of people in this thread don't seem to want to acknowledge that but it's quite obviously been the case. Watching games, looking at the results demonstrate that.

Johnson's pace, crossing and ability to beat players is blatantly better put to use on the right hand side of a 4-4-2 midfield.

What will happen though is we'll put him in the side at RB, we'll leak goals again and become very vulnerable.

Good post Ryan. No need for the Rafa abuse though.

Who cares?

We're sixth, out of every major trophy and whatever happens between now and the end of the season, it's been a fucking disaster and Benitez deserves the sack.

Sums it up really.
