Would anyone out there (apart from Dreamy of course) swap Dirk for Antonio Valencia?

Stop hijacking Skully's thread. Start your own (I'll make the poll for 3 Indian Rupees).

Wrt original question, Dirk owns our 'right side' now and has formed a very strong partnership with Johnson. He pops in with goals now regularly and seems to be well liked by our squad. Robinho, no matter how talented he is, is a twat and goes missing in almost every away game ... In one word, NO

Really?

One of the best Brazilians in the world would not get in ahead of deadly?

Must admit I find that incredible.
It isn't; Kuyt has come up with the goods regularly;Robinho hasnt despite his superior talent.

Robinho is a more gifted footballer, Kuyt is the more effective overall player, and is pretty key to the way we play over the course of the season, on that basis, if time was frozen now, Kuyt wins easily.

I am biased coz I love 'im, but still.

You have come far young padawan.

Although Robinho is the superior player I say no because atm we have a very good balance on the right. With Johnson supporting attacks we need someone like Dirk who makes up for Magic's defensive faults.

We need someone new on the left side.

As incredible as your assertion that Antonio Valencia would get in ahead of Dirk?
I love how you go around misquoting to your hearts content.

I never said he would.

I said I would prefer someone with pace to get in behind defences and stretch them. Someone like Valencia.

But sure go ahead and spout your bullshit, your quite good at it.

Maybe we could do with some one like that on the left, but Kuyt pitches in with enough goals assists and tracking back that there are actually very few players I'd consider swapping him with, let alone someone that Nani seems to be ahead of in the pecking order lately.

that's actually a difficult question because you would strengthen one side (the left with robinho) and weaken the other (the right with kuyt's exit). so what's the point?

Robinho can be amazing but he's not a "Liverpool" player.

He turns up when The Lying Rag shines and/or he's playing at home.

Dirk NEVER gives up.

So, nope !

this is comparable to ronaldo or park at utd.

i think you'd see a different caliber of player if robinho was playing for us than at city.

i've grown to like dirk but he has significant limitations.

On a side note - Could you imagine Robinho and Johnson bombing down the right wing? The opposition left back would have to be pretty tasty. There'd be no way of stopping them.

James Milner or Robinho then?
Dirk Kuyt > James Milner

Robinho > James Milner

I'd prob pick Dirk over Robinho as i'm now loyal to Dirk and I love his role for us.
