We won in 2002 only.
Can't see us beating any sort of a half decent display by France but you never know.

I remember similar unfounded optimism prior to the playoff game against the Netherlands years ago, mostly compiled off the back of a decent group record and some terrible form from the Dutch prior to the 2-legged game. Come the playoffs, the Dutch got all their best players back, and managed to absolutely rape us off the park. I see something eerily similar happening this time around too.

Also missed out on Euro 2000 after losing to Turkey on away goals in a play off, with Lee Carsley giving away a horrendous penalty at Lansdowne Road.
I'd have taken a play-off before the group started to be honest. Hopefully we can avoid any injuries. If Dunne, Given or Keane were out, we'd be goosed.
