I kind of like all the added time. Should send the message that time wasting is a waste of time.
Not really though, that's only one of the reasons people waste time. One is that if you aren't as fit as another team, playing 45 minutes over 55 minutes is great. The other is that it is incredibly disruptive to the rhythm of play, which benefits the shit team.
They'd need to penalize wasting time some other way. If only they had some sort of warning system, where if perhaps you were a repeat offender, your team was detrimentally impacted somehow.
I don't know, it's probably nuts, but it feels like we could work out the details.

Taking 15-20 seconds over every goal kick/corner/throw ins/set pieces isn't time wasting, it's the normal time allowed for players to re-start the game.
Despite your over-exaggeration - Nope, couldn't disagree more. Firstly though I'd say that we don't know exactly how they are calculating the time but we all cat-call at keepers time-wasting and read any match thread at Anfield and you'll see half the forum moaning about the time keepers, throws, FKs etc. take to get the ball back in play.
Until they introduce a stop clock as per Rugby Union - who have this nailed - then this is going to deter time-wasting and actually the time added on will then reduce. It's likely high now because of attempts at time-wasting inflating the figure. Once they realise there's no benefit then they'll get on with the game (unless taking a breather).
