Well, that was coming. most of my Aus mates knew it was coming too. A mixture of ageing ordinary players, woefully defensive tactics, and a quality German side.
4-0 and it could have been 8-0.
Firstly, the tactics; 4-6-0. What the fuck was that about? And why persist with it when you're 2-0 down at half-time and getting a hiding?
That defense is brutal. Average opposition will tear it apart, especially the left side of Moore and Chipperfield, who have a combined age of about 157. Chipperfield's garbage, and should be dropped for carney, who's marginally less garbage. Moore spent the entire 90 mins trying to play offside because he's too fucking old to run. This is a guy who has been just better than mediocre in the fucking A-League for the last 2 years, and now Australia are relying on him as a centre-back in the biggest competition in the World.
I'd drop Grella who was useless, Garcia too, send Chipperfield out to pasture, and change the whole outlook of the side.
Josh Kennedy's useless, but at least he's a target. Bresciano should be straight back in, and I'd play Mulligan or Beuachamp ahead of Moore. It'll make fuck all difference, cos the talent on the bench is largely useless too, but they're going out anyway so you might as well give everyone a game.

The man does make good points, but more often than not he tends to let himself down in the manner in which he says things.
