Lost for words Spidey ?

I was a little taken aback, yes 😀

Steve Bruce has three big faults. One his Manc affinity, two he's won nothing and three his big fat head.

Bradleme, the owner of newcastle signed a player without the managers consent. That is the only reason keegan got his payout of 2 million quid, not the 20 he wanted. The yanks can give as much or as little to rafa to spend as they want.

He's got an eye for a bargain though, hasn't he?
I wouldn't like him as manager, but you can see why chairmen of mid-sized clubs would love to have Bruce.

Steve, Stephen
Steve, Stephen
Steve, Stephen
Stephen Bruce!

Doesn't have the same ring to it for me.

If Steve Bruce were manager the number of obstructed views at Anfield would quadruple

The way we're playing, that mightn't be a bad thing.

Haha. You can pay extra for special executive fathead seats.

the special one would come running back to the premiership to manage us. mr capello could be convinced imo after the england job.

i think you'd be surprised at who and how many would throw their hat in to manage the most successful club in the english league.

Fat Head, Fat Head
Fat Head, Fat Head
Fat Head, Fat Head
Fat Head, Fat Head

Could work....... to the same tune as Liverpool, Liv Er Pool

He's 63 and got 3 more years to run with England on a huge contract + he's stated that this will be his last job.

What makes you think he could be convinced to come and manage us?

I would be suprised indeed rage. I can't see Mourinho leaving Inter for us but I admit there's a possibility however unlikely. Capello will never be Liverpool manager so I'd advise people who think this to stop dreaming.

Look, it's already been explained at least once in this thread.

We would go all out.

I'm honestly surprised no one has said hiddink. I'd love him as our manager, however this is destined to remain my own personal fantasy

Yeah, I know.

I just think it could be a different scenario but the same end result. Forcing him to sell Torres or something like that and since he's supposed to have total control of transfers that could be a breach of his contract. It's all what if's so nothing to really talk about.

Wouldn't Jose be a dream right about now.

Give him 6 seasons and you'd see at least a couple of titles.

I was being a little bit facetious with Bruce there but I don't see why a new manager has to have won anything previously.

None of our best managers had ever won anything as managers before they took over at Liverpool.

There's plenty of other examples of people who hadn't been successful as a manager before winning trophies when given their chance at a top club. Last season Guardiola won a treble and his only experience before that was coaching Barcelona B.

True. But Guardiolas head is of average size unlike Bruces which has it's own pull of gravity it's that dense.

Mock all you want, there's a difference in offering someone an opportunity and ruthlessly pursuing them.

If Rafa were to walk, I think Capello's head could be turned. It's not as if he's never changed his mind before and he'd be one of the few candidates out there worthy of our attention.

JANUARY 2009 !!!!!!!

That month cost Rafa the worship of LFC fans forever

I have had enough of him to be honest

WHAT HAPPENED FOX ?!!!!!!!!!!

There's no way Capello will walk away from the World Cup. Not a chance.

If he walks, at least we wont have to pay off his contract. We simply cannot afford to sack him though.
That's what Mike Ashley thought when Keegan walked out. If the owners wind Rafa up enough with transfer budgets or whatever and he does walk away he could still get a heft payout.

For the record I'm happy to stick with Rafa for the time being and hope for a trophy this year. I can't see it being the league though unless things click into place over the next two games.
I think we have to stick with Rafa just now as well simply because there is no real viable option elsewhere.

I said at the start of the season that I thought the transfer period was amazingly poor for a team that finished second last season. This rubbish about him being so incredible in the transfer market - he showed Owen the door, kept Gerrard in spite of himself, pissed off Xabi, Didi and Sami, spent a load on Morientes, shown up in his efforts to sign a winger and kept faith with Kuyt for the leanest spell from a striker I can remember at Liverpool.

The issue here is that I really think Rafa is a very good manager but the utter inability of these writers to give a balanced perspective and argue the case on its merits is pitiful and shows them up for their private agendas.

They are monumentally thick on TIA (This is Anfield). I got banned for calling Voronin a "bag of Eastern European dogshit" which they labelled 'racist'. Tried to point out that that's not in fact racism, but it was like teaching dogs to lip read.

In all fairness Wizadry I agree with the transfer window this year - I was really dissapointed in it and felt this season, if any, was really to season to invest in 2 or 3 additional big players. I say additional as I've not factored in the loss of Xabi.

As for the transfer dealings you've listed below:

Owen - Owen had made his mind up already to go to Real Madrid - Benitez had just arrived and Owen had decided to leave. He could have decided to give the new regime a chance but he thought he was better than Liverpool.

Gerrard - he's still here because of his love for the club, not down to Benitez or Parry etc.

Xabi - Yeh he pissed off Xabi but did you know Alonso refused to play in more than one game and that's what pissed Benitez off - that, coupled with his poor form at the time

Didi and Sami - great players undoubtebly but coming to the end of their careers. They need replacing.

Morientes - a complete duffer of a transfer.

Listen children, all could change in 6 days. Doesn't matter if we win those couple of games but that would not change the fact that we are talking about this shit in mid-October is the sign of everything bad that is going to come in future. I dont' fucking care now if he goes before the Manure game. He should fucking leave. A horrendous start to a season where we should be challenging. No excuses. Bad summer transfer activity. Mascher wants to leave etc etc. All because of Rafael now.

Fire him now or we'll finish mid-table. That's it.

He won't be fired Glock for two reasons:

It's October.
It'd cost a fortune.
