For what it's worth, I think Babel looks a little more interested under Roy.

Maybe he feels that if he can prove something, it might actually have an effect, I dunno - but to me he looks a little more up for it than usual.

Perhaps we should give him one last roll of the die - after all, it's hardly like we're blessed with a plethora of options, and he has pace and an eye for goal - two things we're sadly lacking in

I'm done with him Dan mate. I really am at the end of my tether with so many things Liverpool, Babel included. And we're only 2 games into the season. Ordinarily, I'd think we'd have some capacity to be able to turn our state of affairs around. What's obvious is that we simply do not have any clout to do that anymore. We've got no money, despicable owners out for their own greed and a manager with an average record and an immense task ahead of him. Couple that with players who clearly do not have the ability or the sheer brass bollocks to even try and put things right and we're in an unenviable position.

Good luck to Hodgson - he has my full backing because the scale of the task ahead of him is immense. What worries me more is the long term future of our club and, with the increasing likelihood the Yanks could get further refinance, the fact we could be fucked for a generation or more.

Sez who?

The longer we go without new owners I think it is more likely. I think I'd take administration first but could we really afford a 9 point docking ??

Here you go:

Hicks in hunt for finance

Interesting that Liverpool's co-owner Tom Hicks is on the look out for some fresh financing – $230m according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing in the US. Digger wonders what Hicks Acquisition Co II could need that sort of money for. Hicks Acquisition Co I was set up in 2007 and was at the time the biggest ever market launch of a "special purpose acquisition company" — ie one set up specifically to complete a purchase. A press releaseat the time said: "Hicks Acquisition was formed for the purpose of acquiring, or acquiring control of, through a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination, one or more businesses or assets." Might it be that, with administration potentially looming for Liverpool, Hicks is looking for co-investors to buy the club anew?

Redshrek posted a lil while back that the board was 60/40 in favour of refinancing.

Awful, awful news

I don't really think the length of time it takes to sell the club will make any difference, except maybe to make refinancing even less likely than it already is, as it becomes ever clearer that H and G aren't good for the money, which is what any prospective lender will look at. Those two clowns may want to refinance and may - MAY - have support on the board for that, but even then they still have to persuade someone to take a hell of a punt on them. IMO it's seriously doubtful whether they'll manage that.

I honestly don't think administration is likely either. If it were to happen it would be at the behest of RBS, and they have no reason to take a step which would immediately slash the value of the club, on which they'd be depending to get their money back.

Babel - a fucking complete and utter waste of fucking space and an embarassment to his own natural talent.
I suspect babel would have done better than jove had he started (he couldn't have done much worse) and I DEFINATELY think babel would have been able to beat richards at least ONCE in 90 mins something jove emphatically failed to do.
Based on what Neil ? Past evidence ? He's fucking shite and the only place he tends to run is blind alley ways. I DEFINITELY think he's one of the biggest wastes of footballing talent I've ever come across. He has ability but he's lazy, disinterested, cowardly and fucking stupid. He's a fucking gobshite of a footballer and I'd wish he'd fuck off.

I'm a little all argued out with regards to babel, people seem to think I think babel is some sort of world beater, no don't think that at all, I am 'WELL' aware of babel's flaws but what I saw yesterday was a team that was slow and didn't want to run at city so why shouldn't I want a bit of pace injected into the game? if jove has done absolutely fuck all all game why shouldn't I want someone else to be given a go? why shouldn't I want a player who scored in the week given more than 15 mins to turn the game around?

Fair point but the main point is he only shows any promise as an impact player off the bench. We need players who can do it from the start, for a full game.
