Why are English supporters the most pitiful in world football?

Nobody in the UK is reporting that , Where did you hear it ?

The Russian consul in France said that the English fan in the hospital was pronounced brain-dead and the French prosecutors are now starting to treat this as a homicide investigation. That's why they could intercept an official Russian fan bus near Lille and arrested everyone on board (including the notorious Shprygin) as part of the investigation. According to the Russian consul, the French assured him that after 24 hours they will either be released or face charges.

Well this thread exploded over night.

I would hate to see the scenes if those 2,000 banned hooligans had been able to make it to France.

Will Russia only get kicked out if there is trouble in the stadium or will apply to the streets as well?

Stadium only

Stadium only

That's pretty rubbish, people can be dying in the streets but as long as nobody goes nuts in the stadium everything is a ok.

Crazy to think the big fear pre tournament was ISIS and a terrorist attack but so far all the problems have been of a different nature.

There was very little trouble in Brazil for the world cup. Maybe it was too far to travel for a lot of hooligans.

The trouble would put you off going to a major championships, especially if you were thinking of taking children.

UEFA said they will definitely get kicked out of there is more trouble in the stadium, but they will also not rule out anything if there is more violence on the street. So I guess it depends on how bad it is.

This is probably partially politically inspired in a way that wouldn't have applied in Brazil two years ago. There has been massive political tension between the EU and Russia over the last few years with the Crimean War and the whole Ukrainian EU / Russia divide, the subsequent EU sanctions and the ever increasing military incursions by both Russian and Nato jets into respective airspaces. Football hooligans are the worst brand of patriotic, and it's well documented just how nationalistic and violent the Russian right wing is, they're probably taking it upon themselves to beat the shit out of any Europeans they can find thinking they're fighting for their countries pride or some shit like that.

Always thought that a terror attack would happen midweek at the earliest, so I don't reckon you can write that off yet.

Can't see it stopping unless the police present is significantly increased. Even then if they are hell bent on violence it will still happen.

Kicking out the Russians won't stop it either imo.

There was a political sh*tstorm in Brazil too over corruption and the money raised for stadium completion with so many social and health problems at the time.

All those protests for the most part were peaceful though.

Just surprising groups as large 150 can go unnoticed until they start bashing people. Surely the authorities would be all over them before they kicked off.

It's not like its one lone guy kicking off.

Definitely, and if it happens a lot of the violence will be quickly forgotten.

They are probably waiting until the Irish are knocked out so all the fans who are obviously having serious craic can go home.

Well, this escalated quickly.

I'm still not sure why people are burying their head in the sand over the behaviour of their supporters. After a weekend of vandalism, racism, fighting, and despicable behaviour?

No other Country - bar Russia at this tournament it seems - has supporters that consistently does this at international tournaments. It's irrefutable. This is how your supporters behave. This is England.

Why is that being ignored in the rush to call me a bigot?

I really don't give a fuck whether you think I'm a bigot or not. It's not me kicking people in the head outside a bar I just tore apart and embarrassing my country in the process.

One Russian lad has just uploaded a gopro video of them at work on youtube.

Chilling stuff and the guy in question looks like a coward, stomping on a guy on the ground and always hanging back behind numbers.

How is it being ignored?

Everyone has condemned the actions of the English fans prior to the Russian involvement.

It's no big secret or cover up. Every football fan knows that at major tournaments the likelihood of trouble when England are involved is greater than any other nation.

Not sure what can be done that isn't already, catch those responsible, send them back home and ban them from travelling in the future. Which is what is happening and exactly why there aren't thousands more English fans in France.

The bolded bit is the crux of this. It's decades out of date and you're more than bright enough to know it. That, together with the all too obvious historical element of your views, is what's given rise to the bigotry charge. Your "ignoring" charge stems from it and has been answered over and over. "Head in the sand"? You wrote the handbook.

You think football hooliganism is a reaction to political tensions ?
