Who would you keep ?

My views on players are pretty well known (for example surnames beginning with L can all go inmediately) , so I wont bore you with the run down.

What members of this squad would you keep for the long term ?

I'm not saying I'd necessarily want all or any of these to be automatic starters, but

Clyne
Skrtel (medium term)
Sakho
Moreno
Can
Milner (medium term)
Henderson
Coutinho
Ings
Sturridge

Obviously though we can't change too much too fast.

I honestly believe none of the current lot are consistently good enough to be top level. So... Yeah. I'd listen to all offers

I would cripple one of them, doesn't matter who, and keep him chained to a post at Melwood as a warning to all the new players brought in. New squad members will take turns to wipe his arse and bring him his dinner.

On the understanding that Long Term is about 3yrs at the mo:

Sakho, Gomez, Clyne, Henderson, Can & Origi (on the basis of potential), Milner, Ibe, Ings, Sturridge (on the basis we'll get fuck all for him) - plus assorted Rossiters and Brannagans, etc

The decision on Coutinho will undoubtedly be taken out of our hands in the summer.

I can be persuaded about Firmino deserving the chance to settle, and confess for some reason to having a deep need to give Lallana more time (although for what reason who fucking knows).

As a footnote: I fucking HATE Moreno. Not quite to El Hadji Diouf alert levels, but certainly to Defcon Paul Konchesky

There's no point in selling the likes of Sturridge, Skrtel, Lucas, Milner. And then there's the group that have the potential to be good/great like Can, Moreno, Clyne, Coutinho, Ibe, Gomez. Then there's the relatively solid performers like Henderson.

I'd still listen to offers on the above, but I doubt we'd make much, or it'd be worth it for us. So it's everyone else that I'd prefer to sell, and think we might make a few quid from.

Fulton
Flanno
Smith
Gomez
Sakho
Moreno
Can
Henderson
Ibe
Ings
Teixeira
Canos
Kent
Wilson

+ Markovic deserves a chance under Klopp

Hendo
Lallana
Coutinho
Benteke
Firmino
Origi
Moreno
Sakho
Clyne
Can
Studge
Ibe

OK, if I'm allowed to pretend that it isn't really feasible to change almost an entire team, here are the players I would keep:

Mignolet (as a reserve, which he won't like, so he can go).
Clyne
Skrtel
Moreno
Milner
Henderson
Can (squad player)
Coutinho
Ibe
Sturridge (if he's ever fit again)
Origi (squad player)
Benteke

A couple of the youngsters too, like Rossiter, Flanno and Smith

But that's it really. I would happily see Every one of these players leave:

Lucas, Firmino, Lovren, Allen, Lucas, Bogdan, Lallana, Lucas, Firmino, Sakho

And obviously Balotelli and Markovic can stay fucked off.

Too many to list.

Lovren, Enrique, Balotelli and Allen can go. The rest I would keep until we definitely have better in place.

Christ, I keep forgetting Balotelli's only on loan and we haven't got shut of him yet.

I'd also forgotten all about Gomez. He seemed to be a bright spark and I'd keep him based on potential. Same goes for Origi. He actually tried to play when he came on yesterday. Coutinho I would also keep as we know what he's capable of. I like Clyne too, although I thought he was off form yesterday. Henderson has his ups and downs but overall he probably just makes the cut for me.

Everyone else can go. Some can fuck right off as they are beyond useless. Others are just not good enough for Liverpool, but would do well in a different team.

It's really sad that we've been reduced to such a thin squad. I like Klopp. He needs to spend money in January but unfortunately I don't think FSG will be giving him any based on what we've spent over the last few years. Lallana, Firmino and Benteke cost 100m quid. Fucking hell. That's crazy.

Don't care about any of them.
What we need is
a top class midfielder,
top class left back,
a good center back which we have not bought since Skrtel,
a keeper and a world class forward, probably two.

Sell some of them, the rest can stay to fill the squad, names don't matter.

I'd honestly be willing to listen to offers for all of our players, but that's not just because they're mainly shithouses. The only players in recent years I really really didn't want to leave and wouldn't have accepted offers for was Gerrard in his prime, Carra, and Suarez. All the rest, not arsed, footballers are all the same.
The closest one to me waiting to stay out of the current lot would be a FIT sturridge, but we all know we've no chance of one of those.

Haha. Lucas x 3

What about Lucas?

Yet another lets blame Lucas thread.

He was probably our best players yesterday after Klopp decided to play him as a central defender. We finally had a central defender with great game intelligence and one that don't take three weeks to pass the ball.

So Lucas should be our centre half from now on? Is that what you're saying?

We desperately need a top class keeper and central defender in January. Like i said before the match yesterday, anyone getting excited about Bogdan replacing Mignolet was suffering with Brad Jones syndrome (ie. the positive projection onto a poor reserve keeper due to a breakdown in confidence in the No.1 option).

If we had a solid base of a keeper that:

1) Does not make game changing errors every 3-4 games
2) Commands his area
3) Instils mega-confidence in those around him
4) Is a bona-fide core member of our spine

...and add a central defender that:

1) Organises with authority those around him
2) is a vocal and confident leader
3) Is shit-fucking hot

...we'd be a completely different outfit and one whereby one goal a game will likely get us the three points.

The rest I can wait until a summer overhaul.

Well, he is probably our best choice at the moment. Skrtel injured, Sakho not fit enough and Lovren is Lovren. You don't need to be great in the air to be a very good central defender.

Everyone is open to offers at this stage. A lot more than others but there isn't anyone who is indispensable. I'd prefer Ings, Gomez, Clyne, Coutinho, Moreno, Henderson and Sakho were kept to form the nucleus of the new squad but there's no one I would be especially gutted to lose.

You do in this league.
