OK, let's assume he's a goner. In the next few days or weeks, we will appoint our next manager: the guy who will not only save this season but lead us to a glorious new future. Assuming there are no problems tempting whoever we want from their present club or whatever, who do you want? And why?

Remember: if you're voting for Kenny, that means you want him in the long term, not as a stopgap/caretaker solution.

In that case I'm voting "Other" because Kenny pro tem is far and away the best current option. Roy needs to go urgently, but his permanent replacement must not be rushed. Choosing only from whoever's available at the time is what landed us with Roy in the first place.

Kenny, because it should have been in the first place. Other than that though, I'd like to see Deschamps.

I voted for Owen Coyle, mainly because I have 20 quid on him at 12/1 to be our next manager.

I still actually want Joachim Loew.

The obvious choice would be Kenny as an interim manager.
He's already a part of the club and I think it'll give the players and the fans a lift.

The best choice however is Rafa Benitez, he know the players, the club and the players are adapted to play his style of football. He won't accept an interim position though.

Yup Rafa would be my choice to salvage whats left of this season.

Why is Hodgson on the list ?

Just in case.

I voted for Villas Boas, and I know nothing about him at all really, except Porto's record so far this season - and the Mourinho connection. It's a daft and very risky preference, I suppose, but his appointment would excite me more than any of the others.

It is a good list. But there is only one name which would give a special arrival among fans, players, staff and everyone involved in our club. We need the feeling of the special one now, and for Liverpool Football Club there is only one special one. King Kenny

But what about next season and the ones after that? Rafa's return would be pouring petrol on the fire.

if we are going for crap managers like owen coyle then would rather Roberto Martinez the wigan gaffer who likes the pass and move football and just might be a success if given money to bring in the players who might fit in to that mentality. If we want world class which liverpool should ALWAYS strive for then Joachim Loew or Guus Hiddink .

I voted for other. Luciano Spalletti is my preferred choice. Doubt he'll be linked though.

Guus is world class?
What's wrong with Coyle? He is doing a good job as a manager. Did well with that scottish team he lead to promotion.
Burnley promoted.
Bolton doing well.

And Martinez has done?

Aren't Inter after him to replace Rafa?
[/quote]

Yeah, was linked with Inter before they appointed Leonardo. I like his experience, his team's style of play (Roma, Zenit) and his boldness to create/change things. Doesn't belong to the young managers group though, as he's already 51.

I'd forgotten they'd signed Leonardo ahead of Spalletti. Must be old age.

I guess they know what they're doing, but that's not the choice I'd have made.

Spaletti 8)

Cracking season with Zenit, and no way will they let him leave (not that he wants to)

No it isn't. Binny has it right.

Haha, exactly mate. Weird decision. And they went on to buy out the remaining 50% contract of Genoa's young centreback Ranocchia for a reported 12.5 million. Talk about not spending. >_<
