So, it's a straight fight between the Scum, the Gunners and the Chavs.

Surely there aren't any Liverpool supporters who are going to pull that old Scum chestnut 'they deserve it cause they didn't buy it' malarkey, I heard a few seasons back.

Remember this could be the year we've all dreaded for decades.

My pref:

1. Chavs
2. Arse

Most likely, it will be the Chavs and the Scum down to the wire as I'm certain the Arse will do their usual crumbling act now that the finishing line is in sight.

I'm pretty sure everyone's preference would be Arsenal, followed by Chelsea.

Oh, is that the end of the thread?

Ha

You weren't around for the 'Scum deserve it' posts I take it?

And I know loads of Reds who despise the Gunners more than the Chavs....

Actually, fuck it.

I want the Chavs to win it.

I don't actually hate them as much as some may do on here.

No, I wasn't. Which twat started that thread?

And I'd be amazed if anyone on this forum prefers Chelsea to Arsenal. Anyone?

I'm changing. Can't bare the thought of hearing Wenger being hailed as some guru who won the league by playing kids, spending 3m and earning 150 m profit on sales in the process.

I rather chelsea won it. aging stars last hoorah. would hate arsenal to use a league win as a springboard for dominance especially with the extra money their stadium will bring them with sustained success.

That's the fear. They grow in confidence, sap up all the young talent that's available (that's what they seem to do already) and go on to win it for the next 15 years playing in a shiny new stadium, debt free.

Not bothered.

May aswell get round to the fact its going to be the mancs so it doesn't hurt as much when they win 19. If anyone else wins it then its a welcome surprise, meh.

Ultimately anyone but United obviously

As for who, well I much prefer Arsenal but not sure I can be dealing with their horribly smug fans and hearing about their 'beautiful football' blah blah blah. At least I don't actually know many Chelsea fans, plus the media don't tend to be quite as keen on them so I won't have to hear about it quite as much.

Pretty much

They're going to overhaul our league haul either this season or next. It's inevitable.

It might even be a good thing...

Why not? Wenger would have achieved something quite remarkable really, to rank alongside his unbeaten season.

If Arsenal win, despite having spent the square root of fuck-all over the past five seasons, it will (should) offer us encouragement. Get the right manager, give him some time, and even if we're outspent by City, Chelsea, United, Spurs, Villa and bloody Birmingham, we CAN still win the league. It would prove it's possible, which would be a good thing both for Liverpool and for football generally.

I couldn't give a flying one who beats the Mancs to it as long as one of them does. Sadly I wouldn't bet on that happening now.

I can't see Utd letting this one slip now. It's in their hands.

chavs or the arse im not picky LOL, come to think of it only problem with the chavs getting it is my wifes brother is a chav fan.

Arsenal, please.

I despise chelski almost as much as I despise salford. It's actually remarkably close.

Arsenal please. That way it gives the rest of us hope that you don't have to have a load of cash to win the title.

Pre-Abromavich I don't think there was much hatred towards the chavs. They just existed. I seem to remember us having a pretty poor record against them, but no vicious hatred.

It will be interesting to see if Man City generate as much hatred when they lift their first PL crown in a few years.

Obviously Arsenal, i'd be surprised if any Liverpool fan preferred Chelsea or United to win it.

Goes without saying Chelsea would be my 2nd choice.

I'll be devastated if the scum win it.

As most have said, either Arsenal or Chelsea will do the trick. I don't hate Chelsea as much as some (at least when we're not playing them) so wouldn't cry if they pulled it out. Hate that smug cunt Wenger but it would be some accomplishment for him to mastermind a league win this year.

And, to be honest, it will hurt if/when United wins, but I'm too concerned about our standing and future to really give much of a fuck about what other teams are doing.

Agreed.

The closer it gets, the less it haunts me... They'll have earned it, and we've rarely been relevant for 20 odd years now. Fuck it - We can only live in the past for so long.

If they get it, they get it. I'll be too busy watching us turn into (old) Man Citeh to worry too much about it.
