Dare I say that we miss Danny Agger?
I don't think he'd have made any difference. This kind of hard, fast, physical game isn't calculated to bring out the best in Agger.

Pinning your hopes on Agger is like hoping that Peter Sutcliffe turns out to be a nice bloke.

Not strange that Halsey has given the least amount of cards in the league. He's blind. How on earth did he miss the foul on Suarez right outside the box?

Our players seem to be running in slow motion. I wanted to punch the TV when Stevie threaded a ball to Meireles and he just ambled forward.
Yeah, I couldn't work that one out either. Looked like he thought he was going to walk it into the net or something - practically invited someone to take the ball off him.

Also, don't think Carra or Lucas have been that bad; they've looked for team mates but there's no one trying to get in position or get read for a pass. They look two steps too slow while West Ham look well up for it.

That one for Kelly looked like a season ending hamstring - I'd be surprised to see him back inside two months.

Kenny started with what was essentially a 3-5-2 when he came in and has now changed a winning formation.

4-4-2 is clearly not working for us.

We need a quick goal but Suarez is not getting any supply. We're being stampeded in midfield where Gerrard and Lucas are anonymous.

gerrard and meireles aren't passing well at all and also there is too much of a gap in the midfield. seems to be occupied solely by the opposition which is why so many shit long balls are being played from defence.

if we want to dictate the play gerrard and meireles need to bring the ball from deep and work it up the pitch with better passing.

Errr because he threw himself to the ground? I think the ref's had a good first 45

Wilson has been very nervous. I don't think he's passed it to one of our players all half.

Gutted for Kelly. He'll be a loss against United.

You really need to look at that again. Tomkins almost kicked his leg in half.

I'm 40 in 2 weeks and my brother in law has just asked me whether I want to start a 5-a-side team. I've not played since I was 11 but I see no reason why I won't be better than Lucas come June or July.

Yep, stampeded is not a bad description.

Our problem is movement though, IMO. Gerrard hasn't seen much ball but neither Lucas nor any of the defenders can find a team mate in any space; the number of times they've gone to pass and then thrown their hands in the air, given it back to someone else before calling for someone to move is beyond counting.

probably because you're 40 in 2 weeks and haven't played since you were 11

Don't get the Wilson criticism, think he has done well, Carra looks well out of sorts and didn't close down quick enough for their second

Their midfield is strong and all are able to compete and keep the ball. There a little bit too physical for Lucas and Ming. Don't think Joe Cole will cope well either unless we start keeping hold of the ball.

Johnsen and Kelly our best two in the first half.

Don't expect anything out of this now 🙁

I think Gerrard and Meireles have been worse than Lucas. They've been anonymous (Gerrard) or soft (Meireles) and left Lucas defending the West Ham midfield alone.

We're gonna have no one fit for the Mancs next week

At least Rooney's suspended.... Oh.
