That half for me was a case of the "the more things change...". I didn't see any evidence of tiki-taka there. As Ryan said, the players are miles apart from each other and it's making it pretty difficult to string passes together and open up space. We're rather reliant on Suarez and Johnson wriggling free in the final third to create something. The one positive is that we seem to be committing men forward when we attack.
I think we'd be much better off with Carroll in for Downing in the second half.

Big pressure on this second half now. Lose this and then struggle in the rest of the tough fixtures then before you know it there's no way back.

Downing's done alright, but it's annoying the way he doesn't get into the box the way Borini does when the ball's on the other side of the pitch. That's no good for a player on the right of the front three.
Gerrard & Lucas not their usual selves that first half, Allen started slow but has grown into it and is the best of the 3 in the middle so far.
Borini has been very poor, he needs to get his act togethr in the first 15 of the second half or gets the sheppards hook for Carroll
