We're a laughing stock at the moment!

It's not really. I don't really agree we created loads of chances, but there were a few times we got in behind and were just unfortunate that Ibe/Moreno/Coutinho/Lallana played the wrong ball. Ings created a good headed opportunity for himself between two defenders, he also had a run and shot that was a whisker away from a goal. Yeah, it was Carlisle, but against Norwich too we created but lacked the conviction. We need to get Coutinho on the ball, we need to keep playing Ings and we need to get Sturridge fit, then we'll get goals and it'll breed a bit of confidence to the likes of Milner to get among the goals. There are a few players who've been knocking on the door with shots, it'll come.
Mark1975 you've always given measured responses but drawing 1-1 with a lowly club does nothing for confidence. I look at BR's face and it looks like he has run out of ideas.

We miss Gerrard also.
He'd have had a hat trick last night.
Say what you want about how he played last year but he'd be an instant improvement on anything that's coming from central midfield at the moment attacking wise anyway.

By laughing stock I think its referred to that the whole football world laugh at us, not that some blind mice will point at the table claiming it is sunshine when it is in reality pissing!!

Nobody has said it's all sunshine.

Just pointing out that a couple of wins could have our position looking rather good at this early stage of the season

And we're not the laughing stock of world football. It's only a few doom and gloom drama queens who'll buy into that shite.

Fucking spot on! We could be back in business with a few wins. 2 points off a CL spot FFS!

Yes, we have certain issues but if some of the players start fulfilling their potential we could move in the right direction fast.

Surely they can't continue shooting that bad for the rest of the season. Moreno, Can, Coutinho, Milner, Lallana, Fermino, Clyne and even Ings. They were all so far off the mark that you would think we played with a dummy ball of sorts.

Things can only get better!!

I know we only scored 1 goal from all those "chances" but would it not be more embarrassing if we only created 1 chance? Which is worse like? Missing a load or not creating any chances?
Shooting from distance is not creating a chance though really is it?

After every game now we read that but it gets worse. We should walk all over Villa but you know that if they score then it won't be any three points. Villa will come to Anfield knowing that they have a good chance to win. Playing us at the moment is one of the easiest games in the league. We won't work our socks off and we won't play any organized football. You know that before the game.

Spot on! There is always hope. What are we without it? Why just give up without a fight -That would be a losers mentality. Form is temporary and all that.

COME ON YOU REDS!!

The problem is and it is a big one is that the players give up without a fight. We the fans see it every week and in the end we also give up. We aren't a laughing stock but our manager is. How many will dress up as Klopp? Wouldn't be surprised if it is at least 100. The Kop sang Rafas name last season.

We the fans will be happy even if we lose as long as the players work their socks off and show us that they want to win. Then we know that we will start to win. It won't need to be any fanzy stuff just fight all the way.

Hence the use of air quotes in my post. I didn't see the game either so can't comment of the quality of the chances.
No worries, it's just a sad state of affairs that we aren't cutting a league two side apart with almost our full strength side

I'd rather we scored a goal from one chance, rather than one goal from 47(or whatever it was).

Pretty poor mate, mainly outside the box and straight at the keeper
You back going mate? Will be over for the WBA game Dec 12th / 13th if you're about for a pint? I'll give you a shout closer to the time sure.

I don't know, Arn. I think it's a complex situation and dressing up as Kloop wont help it.

I said it before and I'll say it again. We chose, for whatever reason, to back Rodgers. He should be allowed to get a fair run to make things gel.

It hasn't looked good for a long time but even Carragher can see that we would really be a laughing stock if we backed the manager to the hilt and then fire him 5 or 8 games in 2 points off a CL spot. It just doesn't work like that. You would have to be moronic to do that - as a club and a brand.

We need to give it until the Chelsea game at the very least.

We've had 47 shots on goals today but only converted just the 1 goal. We have the press mocking us and our inability to score more than 1 goal. The hardest part is knowing Man Utd who have egotistical narcissistic manager are starting to tick and score.
I know its early on in the season but this is really hurting the Liverpool brand, and something has to change.

What do you think needs changing?

How can we arrest 25 years of mediocrity?

Other than the DM position we have a good squad. We need someone who could instill confidence in players and give them self belief. BR just looks lost and out of ideas. I would like us to get a manager who could work with what we have

My Manc mates have all stopped texting me after our games. Thats how bad we are now. They dont have to say anything. Its poor in every aspect.

The Mancs did it, and their fallow period was worse than ours - not only did they win bugger all, they got relegated one year. We too can get back to where we want to be. Appointing the right manager (i.e.an experienced one, not a younger whizz-kid like Rodgers) will be a start.

I was back last season Dave that's why we've gone to shit I reckon. I think that West Brom game will get moved to the Sunday don't you?

I remember that joyous period. Halcyon days.

100%. We booked flight out at 6pm Sat and home Sunday night from Manc for €20.

It can't be Sat due to EL on Thursday as you said elsewhere and we can only play 4 times in total on a Monday and we've played 2 already by the time the WBA game comes around.

Look, I'm not making excuses about any performance, we haven't been good enough full stop. But lets not start pretending this is a new trend, failing to "batter" lower league sides. We've done it for decades. I remember us just about forcing a replay against York City in the mid 80's with that side. The Burnley games and other embarrassments under Ged and Rafa, etc. It happens.

The romance of the cup and all that. Football's not played on paper.
