It's a bit of farcical point though isn't it?
Every title or cup winning side has super stars, solids and squad fillers.

John O'Shea had what 4 or 5 league titles, a champions league and a few domestics cups but he wouldn't exactly be a great addition to our squad at any stage in his career.
You need your, Roy Keanes, Patrick Veiras, Frank Lampards, Ronaldo's, Henry's and Ferdinand's of the trophy winning teams.

Oh the list above the only real quality players who were a main stay of their success is

Milner and even he was more of an impact sub and on the wing.

We have a squad of very average footballers bar a couple of gems who still aren't top shelf like Suarez, Torres, Gerrard or Hyypia

I tried to point out the origins of the point Pat to give some context. Nevermind.

Fair enough but I see a manager who's won nothing and seems to have lost the plot and he manages a squad who have never been leaders in winning anything.

Milner came here to play cm and play week in week out. It says it all.

Not really, cos our players aren't top class by any stretch, but there's enough quality players to be able to get a squad to score more than one goal against Carlisle at home FFS.

The player's he's bought aren't good enough, but they're not as bad as he's making them look.

That horrible cliché 'lost the dressing room' seems apt.

Its a fucking bullshit point .

It's not really, and as I've said, it was taken from a different thread in response to Arn saying we didn't have players who'd experienced winning stuff. We've got players who've won leagues here and abroad, we've got players who experienced league wins at other clubs while coming through as kids. To suggest they've never been in a winning environment, therefore making them immune to the winners mentality *IS* bullshit.

The point that it was eluding to is that we have enough players with quality and/or experience of being at winning clubs, to be doing a damn sight better than we are. So Rodgers isn't getting enough from them or channeling that experience.

It's not a "bullshit" point at all, people have just decided to pick the bones out of it as though it's some pro-Rodgers thing. Sorry for compounding the point but it seems people just read what they want to read.

I dont agree Mark.

Can had how much involvement in bayerns successes listed?

Lucas has been in and out of a side for the best part of a decade what he achieved before now is wholly irrelevant.

I could go on with the others. If we had some player whod been integral in a side smashing it recently , i might agree . we dont have that.

Our last winner was Luis suarez and arguably gerrard up till a few years ago.

Benteke, coutinho, firmino , mig, skrtel ,clyne have all won fuck all of relevance and certainly nothing that they willcbe remembered for when they retire by fans of any clubs present or past.

The argument that cause coutinho played 10 minutes over the course of an italian domestic cup competition 4 years ago makes him a player with a winning pedigree is silly. Dito 90% of that list

A couple of wins in the league and we could be sitting pretty + we are getting the results we need in the cup competitions ( shite performances I'll give you)......not exactly a laughing stock are we?

By laughing stock I think its referred to that the whole football world laugh at us, not that some blind mice will point at the table claiming it is sunshine when it is in reality pissing!!

When the back pages of newspapers are emblazoned with the story of a foreign player in a foreign team scoring 5 goals in 10 minutes and then highlighting the fact we've scored less than that all season, I'd say its we're being laughed at. Remember 57 attempts with a lowly side and we only went through on penalties. I would find it more acceptable had Man utd been struggling too but even with their thi strike force they're acoring

I know we only scored 1 goal from all those "chances" but would it not be more embarrassing if we only created 1 chance? Which is worse like? Missing a load or not creating any chances?

This is the first I've heard of us creating zillions of chances. I was at the game (for the first 90 mins, I decided to go the pub at full time) and all I saw was a load of fucking dickheads wellying the ball into the kop from about 40 yards. That's not a chance. Any cunt can do that.

Read back what you just wrote and then tell me that you're not scraping the barrel.

I'm not scraping any barrel. I couldn't give a fuck about defending our performance last night. I didn't even see it.

It's not really. I don't really agree we created loads of chances, but there were a few times we got in behind and were just unfortunate that Ibe/Moreno/Coutinho/Lallana played the wrong ball. Ings created a good headed opportunity for himself between two defenders, he also had a run and shot that was a whisker away from a goal. Yeah, it was Carlisle, but against Norwich too we created but lacked the conviction. We need to get Coutinho on the ball, we need to keep playing Ings and we need to get Sturridge fit, then we'll get goals and it'll breed a bit of confidence to the likes of Milner to get among the goals. There are a few players who've been knocking on the door with shots, it'll come.

Coutinho needs to stop pushing the ball to the right and twatting it. If we all know what he's about to do then every defender in the league will by now.

You could rip that list of honours to shreds. Who gives a fuck what Kolo Lard Arse Toure won years ago. He hardly plays for us. How many games did Can play in that Bayern winning team? Brazilian second division?

Djimi Traore won a Champions League. He was still fucking rubbish.

He's better than Lovren though

That ball he played through last night to either Ings or Moreno (I can't remember) is the sort of stuff he needs to do more of.
