Jari Litmanen. And Morientes.
Jari was / is class; don't think its really fair to hold unknown injuries against a signing.

My one was Bentley; I'm still amazed at how mentally unsound he is not to have made more of his talent.

Zlatan - just feel he won't fit in too well...not that he'd ever come
Nakamura - he would have been useful for just a year or two
Kerlon (or whatever his name is) - at that time, I just needed someone who would add flair to the side, and the seal dribbling was my desperate solution
Id take Zlatan every day of the week, just based on the fact that he has 10 league medals in a row!

Mine would be De Rossi. I reckon he'd be shit based on our last 2 Italians!

Ribery- made a song for him and everything. Next thing he turns to turd.
It's because he's playing in the Bundesliga. Is Robben also a turd now?

The bundesliga is brilliant Modo. The run in between Bayern and Dortmund is shaping up to be class. The quality of football played over there is great and the established first teamers are getting younger by the year. Lowe is going to have some headache picking a squad for the Euros!

That's what I'm saying. He's not getting the same type of exposure. That's why I think some are saying that he's not good any more.
There's a lot of hidden talent in the Bundesliga. Goetze, Kagawa for instance.

Ribery isn't the player he once was from what I can tell. Maybe I'm wrong. Holle is our resident Bundesliga expert isn't he?

What's his call on Ribery?

I watch a bit of german football weekly and he never seems to impress me

Technically he has it, but he just never seems to kick on from there

Sorry so, picked you up wrong. An agree re Goetze and Kagawa they're a cut above. I have my eye on Draxler as well. Reckon he could be a star!

How is Muller doing? He looked great in the world cup.
From Wiki:
"...he fell into a slump and suffered from alcoholism. However, his former companions at Bayern Munich convinced him to go through alcohol rehabilitation. When he emerged, they gave him a job as a coach at Bayern Munich II, where he still works to this day."

That's Gerd Muller, by the way.

Yeah I wanted Dann.

I remember plenty of muppets wanting SWP repeatedly, from memory only myself & wizardry didn't want him & voiced our concerns ahead of his move to Chelsea. Fuck me we were right, some people still seem to be blinded by him for some fucking reason.

Draxler is talented but I havent seen much of him. Looked alright when I have seen him.

Way before we signed him I always thought Joe Cole would be just what we needed.

When we actually signed him I thought he was gonna be pretty good, if not quite amazing (he'd gotten older since then).

Turns out I was wrong.

I also seem to remember having a rather ill-advised bet the first time we signed Bellers that he'd get 20 goals in all competitions, perhaps with Spidey. Feeling a little more vindicated on that one since he came back, but 20 goals is prolly still a touch on the optimistic side

forget his name now, the portuguese winger who was a ronaldo wannabe, but went to inter and then had a stint at chelsea but seems to have disappeared. thought he would be amazing.

Quaresma
yes, I was convinced he was the answer to all our problems!

Queresma?

I can't think of a guilty player for me... Normally I stand by my convictions until we do sign them, then they turn out shit

oh, one of my long standing ones... Michael Johnson!
Tbf no one could have predicted that

Surprised no-one has owned up to Bentley yet, there was a major clamour to sign him.

Can't really remember to many flops that I've wanted (most of the ones I've wanted to sign did sign, and we discovered they were shit whilst they were playing for us). I suppose Rivaldo might qualify, because although he was one in of the best in the world at one point, he didn't do much after we tried to sign him.

I was convinced Stephen Schumacher would make it, thought Billy Sharpe might be worth a punt (he might still make it at a higher level...), Patrick Kluivert who turned out to be utter shit at Newcastle....

There it is! Bentley. He's one of mine.

Still think he's good...

I was for Bentley as well - forgot about him. He is yet another example of a players attitude being appalling. He definitely had the talent.
