Fucking rubbish players you have at one stage suggested we sign. Go on, name and shame...

Mine is probably Lee Bowyer.

The inspiration for this thread comes from watching Scott Dann currently playing for Blackburn and being reminded of two or three of you gimps wanting him 6 months ago.
 
Damien Duff.

Would probably have been similar to Kewell, given the injuries he had while at Newcastle and Fulham

I'm reminded of Dreamy's Amir Zaki and Stephen Hunt suggestions though.
 
I really wanted Kewell as well. Didn't even mind Poulsen when his name popped up. I should've.

In reference to Ryan's initial post, remember having an fiery argument with Oncy on here after he claimed that Cahill and Dann was way better than the central defenders we've already got. I still believe he got than one wrong.

Was referring more to his injuries esp in the 06/07 and 07/08 seasons. Duff over Kewell anyday though.
 
Arshavin is a good one, but he is a good player, he's just a lazy cunt who's not cut out for the Premiership.

If anyone should be named and shamed, it's Stephen Warnock, after playing alongside Pellegrino for the reserves and watching him smash in a freekick, he duly told us that this guy was real class, full of experience and that he was going to be a fantastic attribute for the squad.

TBF, at the time he probably was. He was playing everywhere, Agger was probably propping up the treatment room, as per. He's been great this season and it's fantastic he's stayed fit, but we had a few years where we'd spent the money on him and not really had full value for it.
 
I banged on about Arshavin for a while.

I was with Dreamy on Zaki as well. I thought he had something.

Mate Malouda at his worst is still ten times any player we've had out on the left over the last 5 years.
 
After the last Euro's I really wanted us to sign Arshavin.

Still believe he's a great footballer, his mentality not so much.

I also suggested Jerome as a cheap option but he's probably not good enough either. Just that he always scores screamers against us (once at least).

Zlatan - just feel he won't fit in too well...not that he'd ever come
Nakamura - he would have been useful for just a year or two
Kerlon (or whatever his name is) - at that time, I just needed someone who would add flair to the side, and the seal dribbling was my desperate solution
