Good result. We shouldn't be wanting any team to get away from us. Now for a Chelski defeat.
Good result? You're kidding. United are much more dangerous as title rivals than Arsenal are. A draw would have been perfect.

utd will come unstuck this season. its chelsea with their new manager that look really impressive. players like ballack are really playing for each other.

spurs have built a really impressive team but i have no doubt that the pressure will get to them

Bollocks. United were lucky. They're really not that good.
I agree. That victory came through two errors by their opponents rather than good play.
Yes its three points and a victory, but it papers over some series cracks.
I'm loathe to agree with Redknapp but two 21 year olds bossed United's three man midfield.
Can't wait to see how United fare in that CL group they're in.

I watched Chelsea last week, Drogba was really impressive but the rest of the team wasn't anywhere near as good as him

So the mancs aren't much good, according to this thread, and yet they're a bigger threat than the gooners? Okay. I don't find the mancs that distressing. I'm just pleased the defeats are being spread around at this stage.

I wouldn't be AS sure about Arsenal Bunny.
Vermealon looks very assured. Him and Gallas are up for it.
Song is developing into a good DM and they have quality out wide and goals up front.

Watching Xabi play for Real Madrid is shit.

I cant help thinking 'thats what we're missing!!' when he does something

Well given that they've won the last 3 titles after poor starts, it's no surprise that they're viewed as the bigger threat.

But yeah, it's good that Arse aren't too far ahead of us now. Just hope Citeh, Spurs and Chelsea start to drop points now.

Am I the only one who thought that it was not a pen for Man U? There was no contact from Almunia to Rooney. It was Rooney falling into the keeper - who granted was stupid for coming out, but pens don't get given for stupidity they get given for fouls.

Oh and wheres the gooner fans who say they don't dive? That was a fucking disgrace from that constant cheat Eboue. He should be banned for that. Absolute 100% cheating and its not acceptable. Did the paedophile see it?

I thought it was a stick on peno Spoin. Rooney got the ball first and Alumunia's arms were out too far.
Reina jumped in front of Park last year and it was a stick on.
Completely agree with you on Eboue. He is a cheat in every sense of the word.
The way he rolls around the pitch feigning injury is disgraceful.

No Ronaldo this time, of course, so the last three seasons aren't that good a guide. If we're going to get back up there we need Chelski, Spurs, to lose and we need to find our top form. I don't much care who the teams are at this stage in these matches, it's the gap that frustrates me. The mancs can lose two on the trot now for all I care.

last season when manu played chelsea I wanted chelsea to win because I thought manu would be the biggest threat to the title, if manu played chelsea tomorrow I'd want manu to win.

Wenger needs to shut the feck up. His whining about witchhunts and conspiracies and opponents 'killing' his players has gone on too long, and his antics at the end of this match were pathetic. What is he, five years old? He gets indulged so much it's a joke.

I'll elaborate should I ? 😉

Self destruct.

Give away soft goals. Unable to finish teams off. Want to walk the ball into the net ... etcetera

The scum are still struggling, they needed a couple of massive slices of luck to get a result tonight. I'm encouraged from what I saw from both teams as neither are convincing.

Chelski are a different matter.

Chelsea are indeed my biggest worry, they're getting results & doing it convincingly too. Worse still they're all firing so teh odd player out wont have that big an impact.

Still, there's a lot of games yet to play, & a lot of twists yet to come, I'm sure.

Chelsea and their "revolutionary" diamond formation. Erm, haven't people been playing that for over 30 years if not more?

But anyway, they are the biggest worry yes.

Before a ball was kicked I fully expected Chelsea to win their first 5 and play some good football.
They have done that but Hull and Sunderland have scored against them and I believe Burnley missed an absolute sitter today.
Wait until they play someone good before we judge this diamond system of theirs, I feel better teams will exploit this system in attack and defence. This is the hope anyway.

I agree, Stu. Chelsea looked unbeatable at this time last season too. Their matches against us, United, Arsenal, City and Spurs will define their season. But they'll undoubtedly challenge for the league as they're so good at beating the cannon-fodder. They also have two of the best three strikers (and the second-best goalscoring midfielder) in the league.

I would consider them a bigger threat than United, but I still wouldn't want United to beat them: that's just wrong.

Agreed.

Arsenal should have ended the bloody game at 2-0 early in the 2nd, and the moment Foster kept that out I knew the scum would get something out of it... They're a far weaker team than last season though, and I don't think they'll be able to 'click' into gear this season like they have before.

Arsenal will do what they always do, I think. Play glorious football often, but slip in games they shouldn't, and drop points in games they should have controlled (like today).

chelski scare the piss out of me this season.
