I didn’t watch the city Chelsea game today but heard a lot of the post match on the radio, so much praise for Guardiola and no mention of money or squad advantage.

Apparently he is a champions league off being the greatest manager of all time. Also what he has achieved this season given the spending power of some of the other clubs is amazing - i think it was Trevor Sinclair who said that. Great manager yes but come on the average cost of their first XI today had to be £50m with another £150m on the bench.

They were unreal to be honest, extremely talented players with the workrate to boot. Haven't watched them for awhile but their constant pressing against Chelsea was incredible. Any mistake from Chelsea and they are through. They are really in the form of their lives.

Yes their pressing was superb. However they lacked creativity and had only one other real chance during the whole game (Grealish). The longer the game went on the more it had 0-0 written all over it ... until De Bruyne stepped in (can't blame Kepa - from behind you can see how his defenders screened DB's shot, so he saw the ball late).

Both teams had threatening situations that they totally messed up but I actually thought that Chelsea had more (on the break) in the first half especially, when Lukaku was especially inept which explains the zero shots. Rudiger was immense for Chelsea.

Had Kante actually taken down de Bruyne it would’ve been 0-0. It was dull as dishwater.

I’m not going to moan about net spends but their squad cost twice ours, I’m not surprised they look slick at the moment

The Sancho story shows us the bundesliga is a bit of an outlier.
I'd still take Havertz as the Bobby replacement, but performances there don't necessarily transfer that well to here.

Why didn't Bowen go with his head 😱

Don't mind Leeds winning, not that I thought they had any real chance of going down.

Or in the case of Sancho how much of a cesspool Man U are at the moment.

We should buy him. We have a few players we could sell in order to buy him.
Sell Neco, Philips, Ox that's £50 mill.
Boom done.

… and we’d still have to sell someone else in order to register him in the squad - because those 3 are homegrown or in Neco’s case a youth.

Fortunately we have a Karius… but we’d still be 2 homegrown players down, likely to be 3 come season end if Milner retires.

Just register a kid.

Just register a kid.

You can’t register a kid for the Premier League - they’re automatically registered - you can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players over the age of 21.

In the Champions League it’s more restrictive in terms of what youngsters you can register - they have to have been at the club for something like 3 years or be registered (hence why Gordon can’t play in Europe).

Or homegrown players are :
Kelleher
Trent
Gomez
Phillips
Henderson
Milner
Ox

interestingly… I think Sepp van den Berg will be classified as home grown by the time he reaches 21.

Bit unfair on Sancho. I'm utterly convinced he'd have smashed it for us. Unfortunately, he went to the wrong team. If I was in his shoes, I'd be demanding a transfer.
