We are not going to win the league

So enjoy the footy because it's been the best it's ever been for decades. Yeah, they'll be more draws and losses to come however we look good for top four, and that's my expectation.

Yup lower the expectations and it will be less painful when results are not favourable?

I understand your point, and the ensuing hysteria but personally my biggest issue with it is that it's incorrect.

We're actually going to win the league. I'm not sure you - and others it must be said - have fully accepted that. Fine. It happens. Especially given how long it's been.

But yeah, unfortunately for you redhorizon - we're going to win the league this year.

Brexit, Trump, Number 19? All improbable..

I think Leicester's win was the precursor for Brexit just as Cubs winning the World Series was the precursor for Trump. LFC's potential victory would be a totally different category – not a one-off event, but a deserved return to relevance such as Red Sox win in 2004. And of course all the above is complete and utter nonsense from any kind of logical standpoint.

@redhorizon2's original point (as I understand it) is correct – we will enjoy this season a lot more if we don't set ending a 26-year run without a league title as the minimum requirement. I do believe we have a genuine chance this year (I wrote so in the Pre season prediction thread in August, 100% seriously), but let's play a long game – we want LFC back in the place where we can challenge and play in the CL every year, if we focus on this the league title will come at some point. Focusing on "curses" and "droughts" just makes everyone more nervous and that's what Klopp is trying to avoid.

Before you start doubting our chance of winning the league, have a look at our upcoming fixtures. Especially towards the end of the season.

We stand a decent chance, this year which is fantastic and with some good fortune on injuries to key players and a bit of luck we could be in the mix. A top four is still my priority - psychologically it might even be better for us in the long-run, allowing the rebuilding to continue without massive expectations

do we get to play Watford 6 times in a row or something ?

Not really. The moon is under 400,000 km from Earth, and is the closest satellite to Earth. In contrast, the nearest star to Earth is 150 million miles away.

It's not a great strategy to aim for the moon and somehow expect to land anywhere near a star.
To be fair to the lad he didn't exactly state which moon we should aim at!

The definitive "the" would suggest he meant Earth's moon, unless he lives on fucking Saturn or something, in which case he'd have to be a lot more specific, given there's loads of them.

As you say, it does suggest that but it's not explicit

Absolutely LAWYERED

Maybe we're not, but we're playing boss footy, & everyone thinks we're in with a chance, so let's just enjoy the ride, eh?

So more in line with Jeremy Corbyn's election & re-relection as Labour leader. Liverpool's return to dominance coincides with the left wing revival. I'm all in!
