We are bidding 38 million for Ross Barkley

He has City written all over him when he does leave, i'ld love to see him in the Liverpool shirt but these prices getting banded around are insane for someone at that stage in their career.

Poor example. This kid is the real deal. Carroll was crap before he joined.

How is it a poor example and how was he crap?
I can really see how he was sooooooo crap that we spent 35 million.i guess the manager and board are all retarded.
And I don't see how 11 premier league goals in 19 appearances is crap.

Would be ace to have him but we wouldn't spend that money. Only way would be if Suarez leaves and I don't want that.

Wouldn't mind seeing Teixera get a chance.

The 38 million was made up by the Daily Star hack. He came up with it when he invented the rest of the story.

Er Martinez was on the radio saying why would they accept 38 million when they turned down a bid in the last window from Man utd for £50m:wideyed:
The world has officially gone mad

OK, he wasn't crap, let's just say that he wasn't the right player for us.
We're a pass and move team right?
How the FUCK can buy a player for £35 MILLION who CAN'T PASS AND MOVE????

What I noticed when he joined was that we signed a player who barely knew the basics. He could barely control the ball, wasn't intelligent, couldn't move, couldn't pass etc
The only things he had going for him was that he was young, big, good in the air and could strike the ball with power.

Crouch was a much better target player than him.

I can not see Bill turning down 50 million somehow

pass and move now, but we weren't playing this kind of football when we signed him. He was bought in to fit a role that we had for him at that time. Just as barkley would be now.hed fit into our current style nicely. But as with big Andy, he hasn't done it regularly for a few seasons yet and not at a big club. So would I pay the same price for a similar deal?
Even a wise man makes mistakes, but it's the fool who doesn't learn from them.
I'd love to buy him, but not at that price. I would want proven top end talent for that money.

My thoughts exactly! Bullshit way of getting the 50m price tag in the public domain.

Seems to work though, we've clearly done the 100m Suarez price tag twice & the media now use the 100m bid as an example when they mention any possible move away.

Moyes is taking the piss and trying to do Everton big favours in the process.

LOL yeah. Also - as if the manager who gave the player all of 2 starts and loaned him out twice last season would suddenly realize before the start of this season, "Oh fuck! Gotta have him!", and sanction spending 50m on him.

Crouch was a much better target player than him.

He really wasn't, Carroll when at his best knows how to attack a ball. One of the biggest criticisms of Crouch, and the result of a similarly massive misconception, was that because he was big, he must be used as a target man. He proved time and time again how good a footballer he was and reiterated over and over, how he wanted the ball played into feet. His aerial ability is better these days, but it's generally been hit and miss throughout his career.

I can see why you maybe you might draw a comparison with Carroll on paper but when you move away from the black and white facts of the situation and consider what you've seen of the two players - they look to be in different talent brackets - it makes any comparison look a little off. Can any young player touted for mad money with a good 6-12 months under his belt now be compared to Carroll from now on?

As for the mention of Reus, is there any chance of him being available in the summer? I'd "break the bank" for him.

Utd are this upcoming window's Liverpool, linked to everyone.
Apparently they're buying Hummels, Kroos, Shaw,.Lallana, Reus etc it'll set them back at least 150 mill

There's no chance of this happening. Gerrard himself told the lad to stay at the Bitters to get first team footy and progress. He'll end up at Citeh as the token Englishmen.

Or Chelsea, as they'll be running out of 'em soon.
