I'm not sure whether you're advocating playing someone else up front with Torres on a regular basis, presumably in a 4-4-2. If so, I don't agree. The reason Torres is getting isolated is that the rest of our play isn't good enough (yet), and that won't be improved by changing formation. Last season Torres was happy enough - and dangerous enough - up there by himself, taking on the opposition CBs largely on his own, when we were playing the best football in the league.
As for Voronin, I didn't think we looked that much better for his introduction last night. He's a canny player and put one or two nice balls through, but it just wasn't enough, and he himself was never going to pose a direct threat to the other lot. In the current circs.I can understand Rafa not letting him go on loan to Hull or whoever (we'd lose a player without getting the cash to buy a replacement), but it remains my view that Voronin isn't what we need.
