I wonder if they'll keep the same stadium designs. Looked amazing from what I remember.

Wow - that would be awesome if they could compete with Barca and Real like Atleti are.

Yup. La Liga is in a bit of a sad state at the moment. It needs a few more teams like Valencia (used to) and A.Madrid (now) to make things harder for the top two.

Wouldn't it be nice to get Rafa back to Valencia for the rebuilding work? One great news is their no longer need to sell their prized assets for financial reasons. Mata, Soldado, Alba, Silva, Villa...

President Salvo called a press conference today at 6pm to speak about the sale of the club: "The fans deserve to know about the club."
Salvo: "The idea is, and has always been, refinancing the debt. We want a long term project. We'll also work on finishing Nou Mestalla."
"In November we met Mr. Lim and he was interested in completing the stadium. He's passionate about football and liked the idea."
"Last Thursday, a multinational company guaranteed us €130m to complete the new stadium. Bankia said no. They want to sell VCF."
"Lim made an offer which covers everything; buying VCF's debt from Bankia, investing in players and finishing the stadium."
"Bankia believe that Lim's offer will be very difficult to match, economically, and as a whole."
"Lim wants to complete the deal (buying Valencia CF) before the closure of the January transfer window."
"It's an historic opportunity. It could convert Valencia into a financially healthy club."

He's a very smart investor who's good at seeing value in other people's businesses. Made his money as a stockbroker and pumping 10 million into palm oil stocks.

But his track record at building or running a successful business is dismal. Can you name a successful business he has had a hand in?

Man Utd themed bars - died a slow painful death.
Raffles Town Club - tons of lawsuits.

He's never run a sports team. Not even an amateur football club in the local leagues.
There are tons of s-league clubs begging for owners but he's never in the mix. The truth is that it's too complex and difficult for a passive investor like him.

He's made his billions now he's let his love of football take over.
It'll be okay at first but when he has to make key decisions (appointing key staff etc) where is he going to go? Probably choose the popular / glam option and keep pumping in money. Until his brain takes over again and he decides it's not profitable.
