No I'd give up the community shield, because being in it would mean we had won the FA Cup or the League or the double the season before. Also it's not a trophy.

It always used to look good in the squad photo with the trophies from the season before (for those of us who can remember that sight).

It's also something strange about football, well team games. If another club from your city is playing then you want them to lose, but if there's an athlete from your home city racing you want them to win. Even if you're fans of another athlete. It's a bit weird.

Yep. It's like a lot of Real Madrid supporting Egyptians seemingly want Liverpool to win the CL because of Mo Sarah.

You take the emotion out of sport and merely look at it clinically, most of the fun drains away. Upside is you can go to sleep straight after a CL win, rather than adrenaline keeping you up till 4am.

You take the emotion out of sport and merely look at it clinically, most of the fun drains away. Upside is you can go to sleep straight after a CL win, rather than adrenaline keeping you up till 4am.

After a CL win I can assure I can't get to sleep til well after 4am, & it isn't just adrenaline keeping me awake, although in 05 at 4am I think I was bouncing around chanting with hundreds of other Liverpool fans in Concert Square.
