Much as being 'world' champion in something else may have its appeal, I reckon Usain will do alright for himself without having to add catching a funny shaped ball to his repertoire.
The fact that they're not allowed to knock you to the floor when you're running the best part of 40kph is also a fairly convincing reason to stick with sprinting. Lets face it, the man is set for life.

Set for life? For running 2 races in a sport no one cares about except 1 every 4 years? Do you know what Michael Johnson has been doing with himself since his otherworldly Olympics in Atlanta? Yeah, me neither.
If he wants to be financially set, he's got to translate his speed and olympic success into something that actually makes money. Since he seems to be kind of cocky and arrogant, not sure the sponsorships will pour in. They might though. But how long before some other stud comes along and takes the spotlight?
I couldn't really care less either way, but it is exciting to think about the picture of him making cornerbacks look like they're doing the crabwalk.

Have any other sprinters switched to NFL? Can't think of any.

Willie Gault won a Super Bowl with the Bears in 1985 and had quite a successful individual career.
