So basically, it works on the basis of the way a title fight would operate in boxing - so the Unofficial World Champion retains the title until they are beaten. It counts for any game, be it friendly or competitive.
The results have been tracked back to the first international fixture in 1873 between England & Scotland (who happen to beverage most successful team in terms of title matches won).
The current holders are North Korea.
They play Sweden on Wednesday - so by Wednesday night Sweden could be Unofficial World Champions.
