...is a free agent. Surely worth getting on a 6 month or 1 year deal?

- not too old (30)
- plenty of experience in the PL and at international level
- has certainly scored goals at the top level
- is actually a pretty decent player - mobile and technically good
- versatile enough to play in the centre or in a wide role
- gives Sahin and Yesil someone to hang out with, and maybe help settle in England

He's shuttled from team to team over the last 2-3 years, and hasn't really pulled any trees, but making mostly sub appearances for hoofballing relegation battlers like Bolton and Stoke couldn't have helped. Fact of the matter is that the Tuncay at Boro was a pretty good player - hardworking, mobile and with more than a fair share of technical skill. I think he'd do decently in a Rodgers system. I really think he's worth a punt.

I'd rather have him as back up than Morgan that's for sure.

He was always a very intelligent footballer who could link play well and work the channels.
Doubt that he would be asking for anymore than 20-25k either.

Interesting suggestion. Really liked him at Boro but as you said went downhill a bit since then although never really got his chance at Stoke. I'd certainly give him a year contract and ask him to prove himself. Maybe a bit old for FSG though

Surely Drogba. Is a better o.ption, just been released by his Chinese team and is suited to the Premiership?

So singing YNWA (with hope in your heart) makes one religious so all Liverpool supporters must be religious

Fuck mate, anfield is as close to a place of worship as I'll ever enter with my heart open that's for sure & Liverpool Football Club is as close to a religion as I'll ever worship.

It's bad really, cos I know it makes no sense & wish I could fuck it off for the pain it causes me when in reality its now just a business involving 11 players from all over the world fighting over a spherical object in the name of a city a lot of them didn't grow up in & wouldn't be here but for cash, but I'm too attached, sadly.

Indeed. For me a city I only lived in for 6 months at an age I was too young to remember.

Baffling.

Same (more or less) here. I was born there and lived in the city for a few years rather than months, but like you I was too young to remember much about that time even when we left. Curiously enough my one memory is of nearly falling in the River Dee 😉 on a day trip to Chester.

Thread duty: Tuncay is indeed an interesting suggestion, not least as we've just brought another Turkish player to the club in Sahin. We could do a lot worse in the circs.
