Transfer Rumours

He's not shite.
Extremely hard working. If we could get him on the cheap I'd definitely take him.
Of course, he's no Andy Carroll.
If by cheap you mean under 20m I'd agree. But he's seemingly never turned up in a game that mattered. I question whether he's mentally weak. Was absolutely garbage for PSG in the Champions league, garbage for Uruguay in the world cup.

He seems to NEED to be top dog. At napoli he was, and at palermo he was. Uruguay recently he's not, and PSG he's not. Though I won't questionnaire scoring record from an unfamiliar position this year (though French defending isn't the best)

And Modo, there's no need to bring in Andy Carroll, it's why you've got a reputation. Just argue your points and that's it.

Well there's no reason to call him shit as well. That word is reserved for players like the one I mentioned.
Cavani himself explained that the reason for his average season at PSG was that he wasn't playing on his favoured position, centre forward. He usually did well when Zlatan wasn't playing.
Alas Cavani wouldn't be the right fit for us because we've already got Sturridge.
Rather have a young talented player like Fischer.

Carroll deserved worse words

Why, he's shite

Shite?! Thats just not true mate. His record for Napoli was insane.
25 goals in 43 games for PSG were he played mostly on the wing aswell.

He's got a great work rate and I'd gladly sign him as Suarez replacement.

People tend to rate players like him on a few CL games and a WC.
Watched him loads in Italy and he's quality. No doubt.

I think we could spend 40-50M better than Cavani. Great player, but there's better options out there.

Absolutly, he'd cost a shitload so there is better value out there. I'm just saying he's not shite 🙂

As I say, I think he's a big time Charlie who likes to be THE main man.

I'm not convinced he can do it against decent opposition.

Apparently they are in for Hernandez for £18m as well.

I think he would be a cracking signing for them, would be a 20+ goals a season striker.

Think it would be stupid for us to sell him given RVP age and injury record.

And as painful as the reality is Spurs are now our direct rivals for top 4, this strengthens one of our new rivals.

Bad business

I agree with you 100%. I hope it doesn't happen, if there is one team on the planet I hate more than United, it's Spurs.

I think 18M is a really good fee considering how inconsistent he's been lately, and I'm not sure he really fits well with Spurs. But RVP/Welbeck and perhaps Rooney on their own carries risks too, especially when RVP inevitably breaks. Probably need another warm body who can chip in, but I'm not entirely sure who that player would be.

But of course there's less matches next season, so you might be able to manage with just 3 😉

Personally I don't see Spurs as Top 4 material, they have too many issues and are not chasing top quality this Summer (not surprising after last). I can see them fighting it out again with Everton, however this time for 6th/7th next season.

It's more about Spurs making use if the resources already at the club than brining in new ones though.

Plus they inflated their wage bill by quite a bit by replacing one Bale with a bunch of other guys. Long term, they need to figure those numbers out, or they'll end up with a lot of highly paid dead weight.

Bit like us a few seasons back.

He'll score goal against anyone. The set up at PSG is not right for him but still he gets goals.
Uruguay have been awful in this tournament bar 1 game. So the WC is definetly not the right arena for judging him.
In European competitions he's got 23 goals in 35 games.

He isnt worth the transfer fee PSG paid but he would be a very good signing at the right price.

Cavani is great, I don't know what you guys are talking about. He lost a bit of confidence through playing on the wing at PSG, but he is still a world-class CF. I'd much prefer Chelsea sign Costa than him.

And where would he play for us?
