James O'Hara might as well tweet on behalf The Firm, so don't hold your breath
Didn't know that. To be honest had not for one second thought of Eriksen to us at this stage, so just has to make a quick search on twitter..

I won't hold my breath of course, but Eriksen at Liverpool would be pure sexual magic.

If Eriksen is to go, it will be to a big club in Europe. Spurs would be stupid to sell to a rival in the PL

Liverpool make shock enquiry for Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge in fresh transfer twist following Aston Villa bid
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...liverpool-make-shock-enquiry-cardiff-16379079
[article]Liverpool could be about to join the race for Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge's signature.

WalesOnline understands the Reds have made an initial enquiry over his availability this summer, but have not yet launched a formal approach.

Despite boasting one of the Premier League's best number ones in Brazilian Alisson Becker, Liverpool are likely to be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, with deputies Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius both strongly linked with moves away.

The Champions League winners were previously tipped for a move for West Ham United's Adrian, although those links have since been played down by reports on Merseyside.

It's understood the Reds are now keeping tabs on Etheridge, who's already attracted plenty of attention since Cardiff's relegation to the Championship.

Liverpool have already been linked with a potential move for former Bluebirds stopper David Marshall.[/article]

He qualifies as a homegrown player btw

Is this the young CB understudy we seek? Can also play LB.....

@Pesam any thoughts?

Premier League duo Liverpool and Burnley have both been linked with Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry, who started 33 Championship games last season.

Middlesbrough are desperate to keep hold of Dael Fry this summer, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, as the homegrown centre-back continues to be linked with moves to both Burnley and Liverpool.
Boro lost club captain Ben Gibson to Burnley last year in a £15 million deal and Fry has also been tipped to swap the Riverside for Turf Moor, with the Mail reporting that he is one of Sean Dyche’s top targets.

The England U21 international, who made 33 Championship starts at centre-half or left-back last season, has also been on Liverpool’s radar for quite some time, at least according to the Echo.
But, as reported by the Lancashire Telegraph, Middlesbrough have no interest in cashing in on arguably the most exciting young talent.

With the parachute payments coming to an end, the North East outfit will need to cast off a couple of their high earners but they believe that keeping Fry is essential as they look to improve on a disappointing seventh placed finish in 2018/19.
It remains to be seen how much Fry would cost but young, versatile English defenders are few and far between in today’s market.

Sorry Doc but I watch a lot fewer lower league games these days and always try to avoid Boro because they've been boring for many years and particularly so in recent times under Pulis.

No thanks to Eriksen. Overrated and spineless in big games.

Yeah, same sentiments. He does take a mean deadball but we already have TAA for that. He would be a poorer version of Coutinho and at the kind of money he would be going at, why would it be of any good value?

Big mistake you guys. Hopefully Klopp will buy him.
I'm not saying I want him, I have not seen him play in the championship. However, these are his stats and its not bad reading. I was under the (false) impression he would be sidelined for large chunks of the season and that's not the case

The Ajax man would be a superb addition for Liverpool.

Liverpool enjoyed a magnificent campaign this season, finishing in second spot in the Premier League table and winning their sixth European Cup. In spite of this, however, Jurgen Klopp will still surely be keen to bolster his ranks at Anfield this summer. One particular area where Liverpool could improve is central midfield, with the addition of a talented technician surely featuring highly on the German's wish-list.

And with this in mind, Liverpool should make a move for Ajax ace Donny van de Beek this summer, with French media outlet Le Parisien claiming that he could be available for €55 million (£49 million).

The 22-year-old was in excellent form for Ajax this season, racking up 17 goals and 13 assists in 57 appearances in all competitions from an orthodox central midfield position. Van de Beek is technically gifted, possesses a wonderful array of passing, and he would offer Liverpool something entirely different in the middle of the park.

According to a report from Dutch media outlet Voetbal Primeur, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the Holland international. Van de Beek has proven this season that he is more than capable of mixing it with the very best in world football, and if Liverpool are to sign anyone this summer, the Ajax ace would be the prime candidate to help take them to the next level.

Personally, I didn't see him all that much, but every time I did see Ajax play he stood out from all of their other talents for me. His passing is incredibly sharp and purposeful and has lovely disguise – very similar to De Bruyne. Cool finisher too. One thing I'd like to learn more about him is his defensive work, stamina and other attributes. Attack-wise he seems a perfect Klopp playmaker.

Ajax signings are always exciting for lots of reasons, but amongst the Suarezs, De Ligts, Van Bastens and Bergkamps, there's always plenty of Blinds, Bogardes, Klaassens, Heitingas and van der Meydes

That's very true and it shows the avantage of their model based on a clear style – they make average players look above average and good players look great. Kind of similar to how Klopp's players often don't reach the same heights in other teams.

Don't think that applies to De Beek though – he's a diamond.

Plus it's a shit league

Fucking hell! I’m no ITK but I know a few in the press association. I’ve been blasted by some silly stuff in the last couple of days. It’s sort of funny. Fake stories (Salah fallout) AS. BILD wanting Klopp (who wouldn’t?) my PA friends told me to ignore it all. It’s classic bait money. The one thing that is flying is this Bruno dude. Seems legitimate

Google-translated from Dutch:

'Van de Beek is the perfect player for Liverpool, he is exactly what Klopp is looking for'
Published: Sunday 2 June 2019 at 07:28

René van der Gijp has a tip for manager Jürgen Klopp after conquering the Champions League. The analyst thinks that Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek would be a good reinforcement for The Reds.

"Van de Beek would be a perfect player for Liverpool," says Van der Gijp at Veronica Inside . "He is exactly what Klopp is looking for. Someone with a lot of walking ability, who never gives up at home and also has scoring ability. He needs that in midfield. Will the midfielders shoot the target once? I don't think so. They haven't even been around yet. "
"They must always have the three of them," Van der Gijp refers to the attack trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino. "But Van de Beek would be a player for Klopp with his way of playing. In such a type as James Rodriguez he has no appetite."

I have to say, I generally like my players to have walking ability.

Mbappe has apparently handed in a transfer request. Real? Barca? Man City?

Can't see how Real can afford him with their summer splurge.

If he leaves it will be for City; they are one of the very few who can afford him (easily) and Aguero is 31 now. There is no way Guardiola is gonna rely on Jesus as his main striker and Mbappe is the perfect replacement for Aguero.

I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, City will be horrible.

I'd be a bit disappointed in him, too. Potential to be the next big star of football, but he will have made 2 moves for money to the oily Sheikhs before the age of 21.
