Transfer rumours

Paletta was completely hopeless for us, then he found his level and was kinda decent in that shit league. He'll still mainly be remembered by his horrible hair though

Klopp is reportedly on a list of candidates drawn up by the Serie A champions to replace the outgoing Massimiliano Allegri. But the German says he's going nowhere.

"Of course it's a league that I like, it's really exciting but all these rumours I hear about Juventus are bull****," Klopp told Sky Italy.

"There is nothing true about it. I am not going to leave Liverpool.

"I know Serie A very well, I follow it and I like it, but I am going to stay at Liverpool."

Tim Vickery has absolutely no credibility after his Lucas appraisal. In fact, after any of his appraisals.

Via Twitter:

John Henry has told @SkySportsNews that Liverpool will go again and invest this summer to make sure they win Premier League next season.

Exactly what I want to hear. Too many times have we not pushed on from 2nd.

That's my all-time favourite.

Closely followed by Tomkins' assessment of Nunez and Morientes

Have you forgotten, Paul Anderson and Mark Gonzales have solved our wing problems for a decade. Nothing beats Bascombe though when he was comparing Le Tallec and Ronaldo.

"Time will tell who's got the better deal, but for value for money I know who I'm backing. It's a bit like Houllier and Ferguson have both dined at the same top class restaurant and had their pick of the best main courses on the menu. Houllier has managed to get his dish at a quarter of the cost Ferguson has paid, and yet it's his rival who is getting all the praise.
The career paths of Le Tallec and Ronaldo are sure to cross regularly over the next decade. Should the French gem prove himself the better player, you never know, maybe the manager who signed him will get a bit of credit.
"

All was sacrificed at the altar of Big Ears.
Istanbul doesn't happen without those two along the journey.

Bruno Fernandes:
“I like Liverpool a lot more, it’s a more direct (style of play), more offensive, maybe less organized, but more intense football, when you do not have the ball possession, you are more intense.”

“In Liverpool they are more individual players, especially in the midfield, usually playing three very aggressive players and recovering the ball, then they have three players at the front who are lethal”

[article]Burnley and Liverpool set to battle for Middlesbrough youngster

Burnley and Liverpool have both shown an interest in Middlesbrough youngster Dael Fry, according to reports.

The England youth international impressed for Boro last season and is thought to have a number of potential admirers this summer.

Liverpool are known to have shown an interest in Fry, with scouts having watched the defender on several occasions last season.

Whether Jurgen Klopp's side are set to make a move, however, remains to be seen.

But the Northern Echo report that Burnley have also shown an interest in Fry and could launch a bid this summer - having staged a similar swoop for Ben Gibson last summer.

And Fry isn't the only Middlesbrough player attracting some interest, with Marcus Tavernier also believed to be in demand this summer.

Manchester United have been tentatively linked with the forward, while a move to German giants Bayer Leverkusen has also been mentioned as a possibility.

However, fresh reports claim that Aston Villa are keeping a watchful eye on the Boro ace and could look to seal a deal this summer.[/article]

Is that really a "battle", I wonder?

According to Munich-based newspaper TZ Bayern Munich submitted its first concrete offer for Bayer Leverkusen’s super-starlet Kai Havertz. But Leverkusen have rejected the Bavarians’ opening bid of €90 million. BFW’s own Berni15 wrote in late March that there is no reason to believe that Die Werkself will accept any offer lesser than €100 million. So far, that statement seems to be correct.
Since the future of James Rodriguez seems to lie outside Bavaria, it comes to no surprise that Bayern Munich has launched a serious effort to acquire the 19-year-old super talent. The Aachennative has had a superb 2018/19 season, scoring 17 goals in 34 games in the Bundesliga and assisting 4 more. Ever since Peter Bosz arrived at the BayArena, Havertz and the whole Leverkusen team raised their level of play, clinching 4th place on the Bundesliga table, meaning they will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Havertz, who is in the Germany squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifying games against Belarus and Estonia, has a current market value of €65 million according to Transfermarkt.
The rejection of the offer should not come as too much of a surprise for Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Bayern’s chairman recently commented on his counterpart’s position at Leverkusen (TZ).
I completely understand Rudi Völler’s position. If I were him, I would also not sell him right now. Every transfer is a three-party business, if one party says no, then that’s that.
But has Bayern in fact made an offer for Havertz? As with the rumored bid for Manchester City’s Leroy Sané, Bild’s chief soccer editor Christian Falk claims that Bayern has not in fact submitted an offer. Falk apparently contacted Twitter user @iMiaSanMia directly and retweeted the following tweet:

Did they, didn’t they?

Absolute nonsense article from Spain - it says Real Madrid to battle it out with United for Salah.

LOL, imagine Salah pushing to leave for United right now: “Sorry, Jurgen, I’ve always wanted to work with Ole and fight for Europa League and sure, playing alongside VVD and Bobby is nice, but I can only reach my true potential with Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard as teammates.”

Things have changed there to the degree that if one of our players was pushing for a move to United I'd sanction it solely to punish the greedy bastard.

What is all this stuff about Salah going to Real Madrid ? - are they making an approach ?
They say the same about every player.

Player A falls out with manager
Player A hands in transfer request.
Real Madrid Manager chooses Player A over Player B
Player A wants to go to Real Madrid

Copy and paste to every article since 1995.

All I know is that it always comes true based on our recent history. No one believes at first and before you know it, McMManaman, Owen, Alonso, Masha, Arbeola, Alonso, Suarez, and Coutinho are off to Spain, and not for an away game for us either. I really hope it is different this time, and they just fuck off.

All of these fucked off in periods when we were struggling to some degree. None of them left the season after a Champion's league victory and a 97 point, record beating league campaign, and with an exciting season filled with hope on the horizon.
