I had a weird pang of sadness when I read this, I don’t know the man, but his goals and celebrations were the first introduction I had to World Cup soccer in my young days. Must’ve watched his games on VHS a million times.

I was amoungst approx. 18 million people waiting at the airport roundabout for them to come home, the Sunday after we lost that match on the Saturday night, and second only to Paul and Rayo, the name that was chanted was flippin' Toto Schillaci! 🙂

Amazing how much we all seemed to love him from that point on, despite him being such a villain!
