I think people have watched Cana on Match of the Day once, and thus formed an opinion on him for life.

I watch Sunderland more than anyone on this Forum, I can guarantee that, and he's really not all that folks.

I've only watched him play against us and Arsenal this Season and everytime he failed to deliver. He was actually so bad that it made me wonder why anyone had ever suggested him as a Liverpool-player on here.

Rash in his every challenge and just not very good. Mediocre at best.

He's only stated what most of us want to see happen.

Oh come on, you know full well it's annoying comment to make. The last thing anyone wants to hear is Rafa talking about the lack of money yet again. And even if things weren't as bad as they are, he should just be getting on with managing the team - it's not summer yet.

The negativity is highly irritating. Be it Torres lamenting the lack of better players, Rafa playing the no moolah card or Gerrard's non-captainish behaviour. All this shit has to end. We know this is a crap season and there have been mitigating circumstances. But for fuck's sake, this is the last 100m in a marathorn stretch of a season. Do your best to get that fourth place and Europe Cup. No more cheap talk, just show by your actions on the field with more committment, passion and attitude. The supporters are behind you but heck it's disheartening to see all the defeatist, blamegaming at this point in time. Buckle up. There'll be lots of time for gnashing of teeth and changes at the end of the season. FFS.

Does it mean that when he's asked a question the Manager should avoid it and simply say that we will harder in training (or some other non statement as he's done a million times) or should he express his own opinion and support the opinion of a player he agrees with?

Or is it that we don't want to hear anything from anybody until such time as we deem fit to criticise them for not speaking out?

I'm getting confused.

How is a "non statement" you gave about training harder not an opinion? It is valid but certainly boring. Unsurprising that The Special One manages the press licking his nuts with all his special quips; it certainly helps sells newspapers and make the journalists' job that much easier. Of course it is great for Rafa to concur with a positive opinion of his players. But this example of supporting Torres saying yes we need new players, we need money at this point in time makes no fucking difference to the said situation except maybe to depress the supporters and players. Do that end of the season. Just play great footie now, I'll forgive the boring opinions.

Ah but you and others won't, there'll be loads saying how cold and unfeeling he is and that he should say what he really thinks. Like I said, he's on his way out and feels fee to express himself more.

Sound like a huge improvement on Lucas! Get him!

I'm not big into the touchy-feely bit. I do not think Rafa is cold nor unfeeling by default. Certainly, you can see his humour and warmth in past interviews about his family and living in Liverpool and when the team was on a roll last season. I think that he does this "professional" cold unfeeling bit with facts when coming under pressure. It's his way of dealing as compared with the damn all siege mentality employed by some managers (which you could argue is unprofessional). I doubt he is on the way out.

But I digress, first and foremost, get the troops motivated in a positive manner and don't get distracted by things that cannot be changed now.

To assume that because Gerrard has been under par at second striker he would also have been under par in central midfield is a very peculiar form of confusion. If you've got three wheels and no handlebars, you might make a bicycle work pretty well using one wheel in place of the missing handlebars, but if you lose one of the wheels from down below and then you complain that the handlebar-substitute-wheel is the problem...well...
[/quote]

What the fuck are you babbling on about now?

Heres one! Gerrard has a punctured tire this this year! Now, like my bike (which also has a punctured tire) it wont be fixed until i decide to get off my arse and do it (Gerrard giving himself a kick up the arse) or my old man does it because he sees i couldn't be arsed doing it (rafa or someone else giving gerrard a kick up the arse). I could also take that bike and play with it upfront in my garden or just in the middle of my garden but alas......it still has a punctured tire!
