Was told this week that Torres is not pleased with his agent about the recent quotes as it gave guarantees that he had not agreed to. Now thats a worry.
I reckon the person that told you that had seen the clip of the press conference Fernando did last week where he said he knew nothing about his agent's statement and decided to make 3 out of 2+2.

from torres' point of view there is no investment in sight (not even any rumours of investment) we've just sacked the manager, we are in a club in decline, we are going to be playing thursday night football in a second rate european competition, the squad might be weakended still further when other stars leave and in all likelihood its going to be a battle for 4th place (again) he is going to get kicked to fuck because yard dogs know they don't even have bother marking anyone else on the team, oh and he is 26 years old and hasn't won a single domestic or european medal since leaving AM, the club he left to challenge for honours (ironically if he'd stayed he'd have a european medal).

that's what is currently going through torres' head when he weighs up whether or not to stay, but its also worth noting he has just had a child and is settled in the area.

I want to believe he will stay but i just can't see it, if he does fuck off after one bad season then he can kiss my hairy arse. He would break my heart, it would be like me missus shaging me mate if he went to Chelsea.

I could stomach it if they gave us £80M and we could spend it.

He's injured far too much to turn down that amount of money.

Torres not going to Chelsea. He'll stay.

oh fuck, the dreaded glock vote of confidence

I think Torres will give it another season to see how things pan out.
I also very much doubt he would go to another English Club, even if we were willing to sell him to one, mainly because of his comments on how the premiership takes too much out of players.

Agreed.
Yep, I think it'd be pretty shit on his part if he doesn't, given he's just spent much of our disastrous season either on the sidelines or sulking around the pitch.

I don't think that will come into it, torres is 26 has one medal to his name and a striker whose game is based on pace and strength has (imho) 32 years at the top level...tick tock

Yeah, I don't think he'll go to another PL club either.

If he leaves he's going to join Rafa at Inter. I think it will also depend on whether Mourinho can lure Milito away.

this is it. Rafa seems to have taken all of the blame when way too many players were under par last year. Riera can fuck off for his comments. Torres and Gerrard were both incredibly inconsistant and need to take some responsibility for the shite on display last year. Gerrard is captain and as such should have been far more supportive of Rafa...

If it was up to me Riera could sit at home until another club comes in with an offer around 5 million. Gerrard would be allowed to leave for 30 million and his captaincy would be given to Reina. Torres would be given an ultimatum - stay or go and make the decision well before the end of the transfer window - Clubs will have to pay $45 million. Babel can piss off.. as can Benayoun.

If people are bitter and dont want to be at the club they should well and truely fuck off. This shitty sulking is doing my head in. The majority of the squad played like shite and should be bending over backwards trying to prove to the fans they will do better in the future.

32 years? From when?

He loves it here. He loves the city, the club, the fans, and he'll be going nowhere.
He loved Athletico too, he left them in search for glory, why wouldnt he leave us?

His quotes of affection to this club were far too strong to dismiss.

If Torres were to leave, it would be an absolutely massive turn around in a very short space in time - we're not talking about Mascherano here. If players are discontent there's usually a few rumblings beforehand, Yossi, Arbeloa, Javier, Riera, etc. We haven't really seen that from Torres.

I'm confident he'll give us another season. Another one like this one, however, and he'll understandably be looking for a club more conducive with his talents.

Because, relatively speaking, he only just got here. He was at Atletico for aaaaaaaaaages before leaving. He's not going to up sticks and leave a club he loves at the first sign of trouble.

I believe Torres will be at Liverpool for quite some time still.

He always seems rather content in interviews despite our recent failings on the pitch.

Keni, those early years may not have been spent playing top level football but, for the purposes of a discussion about whether or not Nando's likely to leave us yet, I honestly don't think that matters. You can bet Real knew about him and came sniffing around, probably Barca too, but even then he wasn't the kind of person to chase success regardless of other considerations.

There's a big difference between playing (and being loyal to) your hometown club around the age of 18-23 ish, when you're "promising", to being in your "peak years" of 25-29 when you're often considered one of the best strikers on the planet. but have STILL won fuck all.

This is obvious and not worth arguing about.

No-one's denying that, but Nando didn't just spend four or five years at the Mestalla. He spent a dozen there despite being hot property already from an early stage. Of course he'll be thinking about his career, but I'll be unpleasantly surprised if that takes him out of LFC for a while yet.

Well, that just goes to show his disloyalty. Who has ever heard of his time at Valencia despite spending so many years there!

as I said without investment I don't think torres will kick another year into touch playing at a team in transition. I think its a matter of whether he go to spain or really stick the boot and go to a english club.

It's whether it really is transition or a case of just getting back on track, I think we're better than 7th place.

Me too. The thing is we need serious investment this summer to compete as our top players would like us to.

I'm not sure a fight for 3rd / 4th is going to be enough. I guess we'll just have to hope.
