It usually helps when attracting World Class talent, to already have some world class talent in the team.
If we sold Gerrard and Torres we would have Reian and Masher and the rest of the team would be made up of fucking flids like Lucas, Insua and Eggnog
Selling your best players isn't the way to build a good team

I agree to an extent, but I think the essence of the question was that the £100m would be spent on other top class players, the ultimate aim being to improve the team.
So instead of relying on the Torres /Gerrard partnership we could have two £30m forwards and still have £40m to spend on another top drawer player or a couple of very decent players. Therefore improving our forward line, the squad and also not being reliant on one player to score goals.

Apart from Best I don't think I've disagreed more strongly Vlads.
There is something inately wrong at the club just now for someone like Gerard and Carra to both be down on effort and commitment.
I could not advocate selling the best home grown LFC player I've ever seen and one of the best LFC players in history at his age. He's not in his prime but he's our best player and we'd be losing a hell of a lot more than just the best CM in the world; putting aside after everything he's done and the decisions he's made have him deserving of finishing his career here I think Gerrard is far too important and brings too much to the squad to sell.
Torres - if he goes it should only be because he demands a transfer. He's practically a Kop legend now and he's not even in his prime. To discuss selling by far our best two players on the option of bringing in four excellent players who will just as likely suffer the same injury problems is not the answer.
They need to be helped by players who can actually perform and do the job we need rather than sold in order to buy lesser players who might be able to do the job we need.

I didn't say it is what I would necessarily advocate, I was pointing out the implied thinking behind the question.
