Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

if torres goes for less than 60, which he obviously will, then we've been robbed. The prices being quoted for everyone else make a mockery of the 50 million fee ( if we even get that ).

I think it'll be 50 skully

😱

This is the best transfer window in Six, its great being linked with some quality players for a change, and it appears weve got some real money to spend.

My worry is how late in the day its all come, no Adam, no Young et al...... as yet, bit close to the wire....
technically after the torres sale it will still be a transfer window of profit (making 4 in a row).

I'd prefer to go for llorente for 45m then spunk 35m on Carroll. 25m max.
llorente would propably actually end up costing 45m with his fee and then the tax on top.
at least we have 15m to spend elsewhere (providing we've stuck to our 50m valuation).
what's this tax thing people keep mentioning? that's never been an issue with spanish transfers before, has it?

That is fucking ridiculous. Tell them to fuck off.

what do you expect mate, we are desperate they are not daft.

I don't see why they would sell him, makes no sense
It makes no sense? Mate, they'll never ever get another offer like this for him.
I would wrap him in cotton wool and place him in an amoured car and drive him to Liverpool at a slow speed.
Newcastle could really fill out their squad with this money.
When? In the summer when they are back in the Championship?

They would be losing by far their best striker with ever decreasing time to replace him.

Even without Carroll there are three worse teams in the league.
They'd survive I think.

The Spanish clubs seem to be going down the route of rejecting offers that meet a players release clause. Said player is then free to buy out his own contract for the release clause but the buying club also have to pay tax on the transaction (about 30-40%).

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

1. A new manager wastes money on transfers: don’t let him
2. Use the wisdom of crowds (take opinions on players from a number of coaches)
3. Stars of recent World Cups or European Championships are overvalued: ignore them
4. Certain nationalities are overvalued (Brazilians and Dutch, for example)
5. Older players are overvalued
6. Centre-forwards are overvalued; goalkeepers are undervalued
7. Gentlemen prefer blondes; identify and abandon ’sight-based prejudices’ (blonde players are, sub-consciously, disproportionately popular with scouts because they stand out from a distance)
8. The best time to buy a player is when he is in his early twenties
9. Sell any player when another club offers more than he is worth
10. Replace your best players even before you sell them
11. Buy players with personal problems, and then help them deal with their problems
12. Help your players relocate

Aguero out the picture as a replacement (if he was ever in the picture..)

We should have tapped him up then arranged for him to fuck off to Spain for a few days then we'd get him no worries.

On the radio it's been said that Ashley and Llambias are behind the decision to sell Carroll. Not unexpectedly, they're just looking at the money side of things. He doesn't want to go and Pardew doesn't want to lose him.

i think that article said that the release clauses only applied to deals between 2 spanish clubs. any issues arising from release clauses therefore wouldn't apply to us, surely.
