Bingo !

(See mine and the doc's previous "pout competition" exchange).

Torres is April in the official calender.

I thought I would rip it out.
I haven't.

Just stick a picture of Suarez's head on top of Torres's body.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I have to ask,

why isn't he scoring?
Quite simply, he's not working hard enough. You could see it in his last year or so with us - minimal effort, lack of direct running, and constantly looking for body contact as if it were somehoew going to either a) win him a free kick/penalty or b) excuse his shit form because he's being "harassed".

On his day with us in the first two seasons, defenders didn't touch him cos they couldn't get fucking near him.

He didn't care about defenders (look at his treatment of Vidic) reputations, strength, physicality etc, cos he knew in hiw own head he was too good for them, but he allied that with a strong work ethic, some brilliant peeling off running, availing himself for the ball, and not going to ground every 2 seconds.

Remember when Everton beat us at their ground in the Cup a year or two back? That game marked the beginning of his slide for me; Jagielka absolutely owned him that night. Stood up to him, outmuscled him, and outthought him. All Torres could do was petulantly flick out at him and trail in his wake.

Since then he seems more intent on his opponents than his teammates.

If he can change that mindset he'll still be a wonderful player, but if I was a Chelsea fan I'd be worried his head's too far up his own arse to be able to change.

He was a 50M player two years ago.

Great assessment. Sorry missed your post.

Any idea/notion that I deem worthy of the term.

Now, nick off and finish your edification.

I don't for a second believe that he's physically fucked or that he never was as good as it seemed when he played for us.

I had this discussion with my bro last night and he said that Rafa built our attack around Torres and Gerrard. I added that it goes to show how much Gerrard influenced Torres.

If Chelsea wants Torres to start scoring they have to change their formation and they also have to find someone that can play behind him. They do have Benayoun but he isn't good enough. Lampard isn't that type of player.
Agreed. I'd add that I suspect Torres is all over the place mentally at the moment. His confidence has been low for a while, and I'm convinced that deep down there's a part of him that didn't want to leave LFC.

Like you I think it's way previous to be writing Torres off. One day a goal will bounce in off his @rse or something and that'll set him off on a scoring run again.

Hope it happens against Manure at OT.

Fans have constantly attacked Wenger for failing to spend big and relying on his youth policy.

But in a clear dig at Chelsea, who broke the British transfer record in January for £50m Fernando Torres from Liverpool, Hill-Wood added: “We have always been prepared to back him, but he doesn’t want to spend £50m on a striker who doesn’t score goals.â€

I'll laugh when our 35 million divine ponytail scores

Especially after his 4am piss-up, this week.

He missed a couple of sitters today, but looks like he's about to find his feet. Will probably score at OT on tuesday.

Hopefully Carroll will score on monday. That would be a huge boost!!

I hope he scores a hat trick in his next game, and then goes scoreless the rest of the season.

That would be nice.

Yah, I like that better too ... If that happens though, I'm not sure what Torres we'd see next season -

Apparently one of the English papers is going to report that Chelsea will listen for offers for Torres in the summer.

Seems like bollocks but it says something that people would even contemplate running the story.

Chelsea owner Abramovich may sell Torres the flop as £50m nightmare goes on

By Bob Cass Last updated at 10:47 PM on 9th April 2011

Roman Abramovich is already going cold on £50million flop Fernando Torres and will consider selling him in the summer.

The Chelsea owner drove through the record-breaking signing of the striker from Liverpool in January in the hope that he would make the club a force in Europe.

But after losing to Manchester United in the first leg of their quarter-final in the Champions League last Wednesday, Abramovich's patience is wearing thin.

Torres has failed to score a single goal for Chelsea despite spending 648 minutes trying and he squandered good chances when he came on against Wigan yesterday, as Carlo Ancelotti started with Didier Drogba in a 1-0 win.

He has looked a shadow of the player who took the Premier League by storm at Liverpool and Abramovich is aware that interest in the former Atletico Madrid player remains strong in Spain.

It would be a climbdown for the Russian to give up so soon but he will listen to offers if he sees no improvement before the end of the season.

Chelsea have struggled with Abramovich-led buys before, with £30m Andriy Shevchenko failing at the club and his presence adding to problems with then manager Jose Mourinho.

But Ancelotti said: 'Everyone here wants him to score. The goals will come, maybe at Old Trafford, who knows?'

We should put in a 15 million pound bid for him, and offer him a pay as you play deal.
Fuck that, more like pay as you score deal.
