Anyone they reveal as having failed a drug test would have had to have been banned for it wouldn't they? Isn't the standard term about 6 months?
Wouldn't surprise me if it is a player who was not very well known at the time but has since come back and had more success. If you google something like 'footballer banned failed drugs test' a few stories will come up and often the names are not revealed, noone really thinks much about it and the story goes away.
If the press couldn't name someone at the time then I assume there would have been an injunction, so something must have happened for Channel 4 to name them now. Would the fact that they are now household names whereas they weren't before be enough for the story to qualify as being 'in the public interest'?

Didn't the advert say that clubs / FA were surpressing the results or something like that?
