Don't forget we have no Europe/Champions League footy which could be a blessing in disguise really - no distractions, fresher players towards the end of the season & no post-europe match "hangover" games....

Thats true but at the same time you don't get the same buzz out of beating a good opponent and playing against the best every few weeks...

1 - Chelsea - Sorry. AVB will be the "special one", tight at the back, he knows the league inside out and his players. I still expect 2/3 marque signings. Aguero might just pop up there too, despite City's courting.
2 - Liverpool - We are back... Just not this year, 6th to 2nd not a bad feat, I think we'll lack the killer instinct
3 - Utd - They'll push us all the way, but they have a massive question mark at the back with Smalling/Ferdinand/Evans/Silva Twins.
4 - City - It'll be close behind us, but too many cooks spoiling the broth and Mancini isn't the right manager to pull it together
5/6 - Arsenal/Spurs - Depending on who can keep hold of Fabragas/Modric respectively

United only played two 'best' on their way to the final last season (inc. Barca).

I think we'll win the league because I'm drunk and that we just fucking will. Next season will be boring by the end up as we coast to the title.

That wont be boring. I'll be drunk & singing in the street every night if that's the case.

I got drunk & sung in the streets every night for about three weeks after the CL final. Thankfully my gf at the time was a mad red so I got away with it & got a lift home each night too.

We're going to surprise a lot of people this year. We have the best midfield in the League, true depth for the first time in years, Luis Suarez one of the best players in the world and King Kenny who gets players playing above their previous level.

I think we will win the league and the reasons we mainly be Luis Suarez, the pass and move football we were seeing in the good half of last season, and an improved squad.

...and the fact that the King has brought the club back together so everyone's pulling in the same direction again.

As painful as it is to state, I think the scum will run away with it this season. They already have strength in depth and experienced campaigners all over the park, and that's without mentioning they're summer signings.

Anyway, in our heart of hearts we really can't be seriously thinking we can catch them. We've finished 7th and 6th in the last two seasons and to go from that to Premier League winners is just too much to ask. That's not say we can't crack the top 4 because we certainly can. I'm not totally convinced by Chelsea's squad...it's an aging one and they need 3-4 top class signings this summer in my view. Citeh look United's main challengers but they're not the finished article, far from it.

As for Arsenal and Spurs, unless both go out and bring in some serious quality, they'll both struggle. Arsenal are always there or thereabouts but this season, i think that might change. They're more vulnerable than ever.

In summary, no title challenge for us, but a top 4 finish is certainly a realistic aim although it will be tough. A good start is essential.

How on earth is that anything other than a massive plus? They have a fantastic backline.

I'm not so sure. Vidic is usually excellent but we of all people know what a quick player who's confident enough to run at him can achieve. 8) Rio is an even better player but a standing injury doubt and the wrong side of 30. Smalling is not ready yet and Evans is not up to the standard of the rest. The Silva twins look good but I wonder whether their temperament would hold up if the Mancs hit a lean spell (as they do surprisingly often, though they haven't yet been made to pay for them).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ManUre will be anything other than hard to beat. They have the winning habit and it won't be easily broken. What I *am* saying is that there's a danger of overstating things. We mustn't swallow their hype.
