Fantastic game that, really enjoyed it.
Bit pernickety from the referee, but if grown men are gonna roll around like that, I guess the cards are inevitable.
Only one outfield player under the age of 25 apparently (Mikel) so that was a pitch packed full of high quality experiece and players in their absolute prime.
I thought Ancelloti choked first. They were monstering Inter for the last 20 minutes of that first half, and a goal was coming. He sent them back out after the break with a changed formation, and it killed them. The shift from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2 let Inter into the game, and irrevocably changed it. I don't know why he felt the need to do that. It played right into the hands of Cambiasso and Motta, the two defensive midfielders, and freed up Sneijder. He then compounded it by taking off Ballack. He wasn't having an influence the German, but it allowed Sneijder to pick the ball up in the hole and dictate.
What a fucking job of it he did. What a player. Three or four instinctively brilliant through balls. The pass to Eto'o for the goal was sublime. Eto'o didn't have to check his run, stretch for it, wait for it to bounce, cos the thng landed on his big toenail perfectly. Absolute quality at the highest level.
Inter are better than I thought they were, for what is essentially a team made up of players rejected by La Liga sides, but I thought Ancelotti let them have it.
