Sky Sports is worse than IMScouting, Caughtoffisde and whatever these other sites are called.
They get nearly every story wrong these days.

I can't see it happening to be honest. If Comolli says yes to Cole, I'll lose all faith in the man. Roy wants him yes, but does he even controll what players we should bring in anymore?

I'd rather keep playing David N'Gog than sign Carlton Cole.

Cole can be very good indeed, but it happens very rarely.

He's the modern day Heskey really.

when he had his purple patch last season I thought he was excellent, but then heskey was excellent when he had his purple patch in 2001

He's worse than Heskey - that's how shite he really is.

Purple patch what purple patch he scored 10 goals in all competions last season and 12 the season before. He averages 5 goals a season over his career. We are supposed to be taking the the goalscoring pressure of Torres. I would rather put up with what we've got now than spunk 9 mil up the wall.

and we no longer even have the luxary of hoping that he would improve by playing in a better team
we can however offer him the luxury of being in a 'slightly' less shit team.

I was talking about his all round play. you'd have to think we are looking at his all round play because if we are looking for goals then we'd be better served going for darren bent.

I just don't see it even in his all round play, his primary job is to score goals and unfortunatly he doesn't do this. 2-3 Mil worth a risk 9 fucking million no wonder they rested him yesterday!

i suppose this is sabermetrics. eventually we're going to have to just man up and deal with it
Id take a fucking saber to Carlton Coles massive mongy head.

I highely doubt we'll sign him. The only thing that makes me nervous is Roys Liverpool midtable team quest. Add Huth and Cole to Konch and Poulsen, and we're on track for a 12-15th place finish.

Comolli must be as mental as Roy surely one of them can see he's shite, before the 2 goals the other day he scored a grand total of 3 goals in all competions. Really 9million for this sack of shit VdV only cost 8. Our scouts seriously need fucking stabbing.
While I generally agree I think for the sake of perspective this sack of shit has scored as many goals as Fernando Torres this season.

I thought this was the whole point of Comolli (?), and indeed part of John Henry's watching brief to make sure we get the right players at the right money.

I think Cole is pretty shit too, but I also think he is a better option to back up Torres than anything we already have. If we signed him I would be pretty disappointed, but realistically, and rather sadly, it would improve us.

regards

Just seen Ross's post too 😉

Imminent Dzeko deal (£30m fee plus 100k a week wages) doesn't say much for Man City's self-proclaimed vow to be more prudent #MCFC

Will be a VERY good signing for them

dzeko has never and will never flop. Not even in cards. It's a dull night around the poker table with him

As if we need Dzeko - we're getting Robert Huth.

Chelsea's former talismanic target man.

Can't Believe there's nothing about Woy getting the sack in any of today's papers
Does NESV want us to go down? I'm beginning to wonder ..

As if Dzeko would even consider for one nanosecond coming to Liverpool

As if anyone would.

Liverpool make Ashley Young their top January target and prepare £14m bid
Reds will meet England international's wage demands as contract runs down
30 Dec 2010 08:00:00

Liverpool have made Ashley Young their top target for the January transfer window and are confident they can land the Aston Villa winger, Goal.com UK can reveal.

The Reds face stern competition from Manchester United and Tottenham for the England international, who will cost around £14 million as his contract at Villa Park runs out in 18 months' time.

Manager Roy Hodgson has been driving the interest from Anfield as he looks to add British talent to the squad but Damien Comolli, the club's director of football strategy, also supports the move for a player who will add much-needed pace to the side.

Liverpool are ready to meet Young's wage demands of £75,000-a-week – or £3.9m a year – and will make an official approach to Villa when the transfer window opens. Insiders at Anfield claim the club are confident the former Watford man is keen on a move and they believe Villa may feel compelled to sell because of his contract situation.

Young, 25, currently earns £65,000-a-week but has refused to sign a new deal at the Midlands club and there have been suggestions that he would be prepared to run down his contract and leave for nothing in the summer of 2012.
