So, do you believe what the Spanish press (Marca, basically) are saying ?

The only player I think that has spoken on the subject of Rafa leaving was Masher, and that was a thinly disguised "take the Inter job and bring me with you" plea.
there's blatant, really blatant and then there's mash's statements

There's persistent, there's pig-headed and then there's your attitude to Masher.

Mascherano's loyalty to Benitez could be viewed as rather questionable, given how grumpy he was when not allowed to leave *last* summer

So, whatever, he's going, give a fuck what the reason is

Just make sure we buy at least two CM players this summer and sack off Lucarse and Aquilani too
If Rebel is to be believed all of the 'worlds best midfield' will be sold to service the debt.
So that's Gerrard-Alonso-Mascherano to Lucas-Shelvey-Spearing in just 600 days.
*weep*

Liverpool's Javier Mascherano hints at following Rafa Benitez to Inter Milan
Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano believes former coach Rafael Benitez would be the ideal man to replace Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan and could follow him to the San Siro.

Benitez's six-year stay at Liverpool ended by mutual consent on Thursday and speculation is rife the Spaniard is set to take over the reigns at Inter.

Reports suggest Inter president Massimo Moratti is set to meet Benitez in Sardinia and a deal could be sealed in the next 48 hours.

It will be daunting for someone to step into Mourinho's shoes after the former Chelsea manager steered the Nerazzurri to the Champions League crown before leaving to Real Madrid, but Mascherano believes his former manager has the perfect credentials.

"Only Benitez could take the place of a coach like Mourinho," said the Argentina international. "He is a great coach. He has charisma, personality, a winning mentality.

"Moreover, he will find himself brilliantly in Italy because of the tactical game. Rafa studies everything on the table and directs the team from the bench like an orchestra conductor.

"Inter have made a good choice. After Mourinho, he is the only man capable of continuing Inter's winning run."

Mascherano has spent the past three years at Anfield but contract negotiations have currently been put on hold.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona last summer and admits he could soon leave Liverpool.

"Would I follow Benitez? I don't know," he said with a shrug. "At the moment I really know little about my future.

"But of course with Benitez at Liverpool I experienced three incredible years. His football is my football."

Cheers Chan.

Terrier and Neil can bollocks, that's the last time I find info for yous.

Firstly, Marca are full of shite, as usual.

Secondly, if Mascher wants to go, then go. We don't need players that won't give everything next season. Good luck in Italy.

to be fair I saw the the quotes not the entire article and 'But of course with Benitez at Liverpool I experienced three incredible years.' was missing.

Shame Fat Dunk at KT isn't reliable, just heard he's doing an exclusive about a very whealty single investor close to buying the club, deal to be wrapped up in 5 weeks.

Could probably ask my 80 year old neighbour and gotten similar credible news.

Yep!

I wonder if we waited until the players were on international duty before we fired him.

That way players can say they only want to concentrate on international football if the press ask them.
