The Richardson sending off was Wiley being an idiot. Yes, Richardson is stupid, but the bloke was only kicking it back to where the offence had taken place. It wasn't time wasting at all.

totally. it wasn't done in anger, or to wind the opponent up. would he have sent scholes off for the same? not a fucking chance.

Needing a late goal to see off Sunderland at home? Hmmm.

I remember that a team last season scored loads of late goals and came second. 😉

Means nothing if we don't beat Chelsea.

Err yes it does.

Not sure. Means not getting a result is less damaging, if one goes with the idea that beating utd will be enough to win the league.

Utd were seriously poor tonight.

Funny that. I saw that on Red Cafe before they kicked off (re. Liverpool losing and them beating Sunderland). I'd say it does because now if we lose we are stil lonly 4 points behind United. A draw at SB would do me just fine. Anything else would be cream.

Spot on..

I know it's still early in the season, but winning tomorrow could be a 'moment' in the season. A bit of a turning point. Chelsea would have lost two on the trot and Man U have struggled while we have overcome an early season blip.

The 2nd Utd goal was always coming, shame it did though.
Richardson getting sent off and a Ferdinand own goal. They needed a bit of luck today..

How massive is the game tomorrow then? A Chelsea win and they're infront with a couple of points, and if we win we're right back in there.

A draw would be alright, and I wouldn't be to upset with that.

I'm nervous as fuck though. Mostly because our defence has been in shambles.

A win tomorrow and we are top.

A few questions / observations...

1. Arsehole got sent off for aimlessly punting a water bottle, right? Straight "red", wasn't it? But ginsoak gets to berate the fourth official on live Tv for the best part of a minute, and everybody just shrugs..? WTF?

2. If Mascher had raked Andy Ried the way Rooney did in the first half, it would've been an immediate yellow, no questions asked. But oh no - Not here. Wanker ref!

3. The red card was a f#$!ing joke. He was kicking it back towards where the foul was committed. Wanker ref (X2).

4. How the f#$! in Andy Ried not playing for Ireland?

For some reason, and I was feeling this way before the United game, I am very confident. Maybe it is Chelsea's indifferent form, maybe it is Torres being shit-hot, maybe many things. But I just feel we will get a result. No doubt I will chew my finger nails down to the bone during the match though.

Yes, Rooney also outdid Skrtel in the second half by jumping over an opponent and he got nothing again. Ginsoak was outrageous in his ranting and the official took it like a meek servant. I don't why the commentators immediately attacked Richardson when he was just passing the ball back to the proper place. And Reid did surprisingly well.

I'm in the position of not watching that late own goal, and having just seen Man U drop 2 points, it's fantastic. Any result out of tomorrow will be good, but we'll need to go for the win to get anything anyway, so we will.

Kieran "I could be the best left-back in the world" Richardson.

What a stupid little prick. I hope Bruce or his team-mates kicked the shit out of him when they got into the changing room.

In fairness, I don't think the second one was a booking. It was petulant and he was kicking it back towards where the offence was committed.

At OT you don't give the ref any excuse to send you off. He did. Kick the ball with any kind of attitude in that situation and it will always be interpreted as a booking.

I think playing at OT again made Richardson more nervous that normally. He made some stupid mistakes during the 2nd half (I missed the 1st half so can't comment about it). It was a stupid sending off anyway.
