Hi.

So I'm looking for 2 tickets for a game during the second half of the season. Like any time during 2020, before the season ends obviously.
I used to be a member and got tickets through resales, but I'm guessing that it's going to be pretty much impossible this season.

So how do I go about securing 2 tickets for any HOME game this season?
I'd appreciate any help I can get.

It's for me and a friend.

regards

It seem to be tickets around whenever you gewtting close to the game. You can allways try the web (There are facebook sites etc) well in advance and pay your way out of insecurity. They even sell packages including hotels and match tickets, but they tend to become much more expensive than if you put together you own package.

I am not sure when the fancard sales for the remaining of the season is on sale, but I allways get offered some tickets (often for face value) from guys that have secured tickets but can't make the trip anyway. So if you avoid the Big games I am certain your contacts here can help you. And even if you don't want to pay big money up front I have some decent numbers that will secure you a black market ticket or two anyway for any game.

Even for the Man City game last weekend me and my son got two tickets just days before we left for Liverpool. 1 at the kop for £250 (good man in Liveprool that can secore tickets later on also) and 1 at Upper Main Stand at 90£. When in Liverpool we were offered other tickets for 350 a piece.

Cool.
I'm thinking of giving it a shot in this weeks ticket release.

It is a good start. And if not successful you will probably still get tickets.

One thing when planning ahead is that you don't know when the match will be played. So when we plan trips I allways am afraid the game can be moved to a monday eve. However before international breaks it will not be moved to monday regardless. Also CL weeks is a good indicator, but we don't know when we will play in the spring. But we will probably not play monday games before a CL week.

Thanks, last question:
Do ticket sales start at 8.15 UK time? Doesn't say on the official.

Probably? Strange that they don’t say GMT or CET. Anyway it is for members with 13+ homegames last season it seem. You got hold of those?

No on Thursday it's open for all members. Since my friend doesn't have more than 4 games on his card we have to wait. I'm going for the Villa or Bournemouth game.

Then no worries about tickets if you fail on Thursday I guess. Maybe you have to add a tenner or two but I guess you will be fine anyway.

Look for cheap flights ahead of thursday. Not sure which airport is closest to you but a few of ny friends have actually flewn via Stockholm to Manchester as the weekend flights from Oslo fills up quite quickly.

Thanks for the tip. I don't know about booking flights now I mean isn't there a risk that they move the game?

You better choose a game we’ll win, @Modo, or you might not be ever allowed back in the stadium by the anti-jinx brigade.

If you don’t get over that often and you fail in the members ballot. You could try to get two tickets in the carlsberg dugout they are around £200 a ticket - not sure how that compares with touts prices - but you get a free beer at half time and more leg room and a nicer cushioned seat....cheap

I've found it hard to get tickets this season. I am generally offered them in the days leading up to the game, but that ain't great if you have to book flights and all that. Cup / midweek games tend to be a easier to source.

I see your point. It is not that it is easy to get tickets, but there is normally tickets around before the game. One here and one there if you have good contacts.

But when travelling from Norway/Sweden there is 2 ways to do it. There are travelling companies (a la Ving who used to be owned by Thomas Cook) that for some reason have 150 tickets available. But they cant tout them, hence they have to offer them as a package. Then you overpay for everything, including hotel rooms, busrides, match meal and everything else that is included in the package they offer. So a match weekend can easily be 700£ (plus flights) incl 2 nights in hotel and a match ticket. And people are willing to pay for this.

The other way is to sort it by arranging flight and accomodation yourself. Then you get away far cheaper and have more flexibilty to arrange a ticket when you are at the site. But then big games like Wolves last season and Man City (got good kop tickets for both) will be riskyer, but the travelling companies also up the price for these significantly.

Vlad, is that you???

I may have 2 spare for the last 16 game in the CL (If we get there!!) but I wont know until much nearer the time. Like a couple of weeks before.

We play Wolves on 29th dont we? Are you back for that?
Nah well my flight back to Amsterdam is like 7pm that day and I don't think there's a later one so it would be a madness to try and get the airport from anfield with half an hour spare

Although obv if I'm Christmas drunk and there's a ticket about I may have to figure something out!

I'm OK with it being a few weeks notice. It's enough time to book reasonably cheap flight and make other arrangements with family, work etc.

I'll let you know nearer the time, this will be be Mid March (if we win the group)

That's just great, got two tickets...
For some reason I'm not allowed to purchase them. Membership issue. Lol, my luck.

Haha. What the heck. They gave you permission to buy them but refused you to buy them due to membership issues?

Yes logged in and everything, but when I wanted to check out it that there was something wrong with my membership.
Gonna call customer service tomorrow or later today when it has calmed down a bit.

What sale did you try in? The one today was a free for all for all members but the sales during the week required you to have credits from last season on your card. It would allow you log in but no purchase.

If you were trying in the free for all sale this morning (Sheff united, Villa etc) and still had membership issues then I would contact the club. Tell them you had tickets in your basket but could not purchase. If you have screenshots even better.

Well, I did contact the club and they told me that I bought the membership too late. Cut off time was Oct 31, I bought it two weeks later.
Was barely any information about it on the website. Kinda feel duped to be honest but hey, maybe I can get some tickets through the return sales. Doubt it though.

That's bullshit. Why would they let you buy it if you can't use it now. In that case they should have changed your membership to next season.
