Hello all

I need some advice around how to go about tickets for a home game.

My lad is 4 1/2 now and is getting his head around what the game is all about, he knows full well what Liverpool FC is all about and he also knows that on his 2011 calendar, we don't discuss the player who is shown in April.

We went up to Liverpool for a family trip recently when the Wolves game was on and drove past Anfield just before kick-off and he was mesmerised by all the people milling about. He keeps mentioning it and how I promised that I'd take him along one day and i think finally he might well be ready for it.

Anyway, I've done a search on t'internet and I'm looking at upwards of £100 per ticket for the home games in and around Christmas. I'm going to ask the missus to get me the two tickets for Christmas and if I have to pay £200+, then I will but I thought I'd ask some expert advice as to what other avenues there are available. Do the club put some face value tickets up closer to the time? Can I rely on getting one outside the ground?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I know that there have been some late availability of tickets for other matches coming on stream occasionally but there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.
I will keep an eye out for you to see if there is any late availability and pm you if there is.
It is a pity as there were tickets available for the Blackburn game on Boxing Day up until last week.

Don't have any information regarding getting tickets outside the ground.

Not much help I know but it is all I have

edit scratch all that there may be some availability left for the Blackburn game but tickets sales for that match have been suspended until next Monday.

If your going to pay that price, you might be better getting one of the hospitality packages from the club. For Stoke on the 14th of Jan it's £118 for tickets in the Anfield Road Stand and a 2 course meal afterwards (£60 for kids)
