City don't need to lose 3 games. A draw and a loss away to the Chavs and Arsenal would make things very interesting.
They're going to make a big run in Europe this year which will do their domestic form no favours.
I've already said I'd take 4th right now if I could but the top three aren't THAT far away.

Mate, we're not going to win the title - I'm just saying they wouldn't have to lose 3 games. I don't think they'll be as deadly while in the CL.
I also think we'll definitely be top 4 and wouldn't surprise to see Arsenal drop below us.

I don't know if we'll win the league. I think we have as good a shout as any others - With a favorable fixture list and a good attacking team.
but what I do know is that I am tired of hearing posters on here bigging up other teams. This season especially. They are not as great as you Inferiority complex-ers think. I know it's been a tough few years, but it's a different ball game so stand a bit taller and no more mumbling about other clubs being invincible. You don't help us when you denigrate us.

If we had beaten Villa I would have still held some hope.

But we will get top 4.
I think its more a case people hope we can win it. What's wrong with a bit of hope and belief, hell we deserve it after the past three years or so.

Any small chance we had of winning it went against Villa.
Tbh the chance arguably went with those back to back defeats against City and Chelsea.
Reminds me of last season where people kept saying we could make top 4 throughout the second half, even when we were quite obviously going to fall woefully short.

I've had a season ticket for 23 years, I got my first one in 1991. The fucking year after we last won the league. I've seen us win everything except the league. There won't be many who want to win it more than me.
I HOPE we can win it every minute of every season until it's mathematically impossible. I'm just realistic and allow myself to not get too carried away.
I don't think Europe will distract City and Chelsea that much depending on the fixture list. They have big squads and the bottom 10 more or less beat themselves particularly against City's attack.
Arsenal have a tough set of fixtures ahead so 3rd might become available again if they don't well in March / April.
As I said in another thread though, I fear that we're starting to look at a bit jaded and ropey at exactly the wrong time in the season. We need to be gearing up for a big push over the next few months.

I really hope so, we need to aim for 3rd, because if we get 4th (which I'd take in a second btw), we'll have to deal with the qualifier, and not being seeded, it's going to be very difficult and play with getting players in early next transfer window.
I'm not a pessimistic fart. I've been going to football for over 40 years. I know we have no chance of winning the title. If you think Arse, Chavs and Citeh will all drop enough points while we win enough to win this league this year then you don't really understand football.
I wanted a draw to boost our chance of getting closer to the top, not that unrealistic considering we were there a month or so ago. I would rather hope/dream we can win it at this point of the season than imagining Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal winning it. I don't think that means I don't understand football its just being extremely optimistic. Also pessimistic fart wasn't aimed at you directly 😉

After dropping points to Villa, people talking about winning the title is just ridiculous. The problem is not about squad quality but our manager is also equally naive sometimes so BR needs to get some more experience before we challenge for the title.
I think one of the Top 3 (Arsenal most likely) are going to suffer a slump that will pull them back into the group below meaning that 3rd and 4th will be a battle between that team, Us and Spurs.
I'm worried as Spurs are gaining momentum and our defence is still in comedy mode.

Don't discount Everton, Traore will be a huge plus for them, if they get him. Lets see how Spurs face against City, they've had a relatively easy run recently, so whether they capitulate or not against City will be very telling.
Not sure where John Henry took his stats from but here's something that appeared on ESPN before the WBA-Everton match:
Arsenal are on a win streak. We went on one when we were under Rafa....I can't remember if we ever had a more than (even a) three game win streak after that.

There is no point going on about it though when, as you say, it's unlikely to happen.
