Some of the posts on here beggar belief, Localny, Brendan, KopKing are positively foaming at the mouth, come on lads stop eating the soap and get behind the manger, he may not be what you want or hope for but he's here now and needs our support just as he's asked for.

So good luck Roy and hope you can exceed expectation and give us what we dream of

I wont dare speak for the other posters you mentioned, but my opinion is that he isn't the man for the job. He's been appointed now so its moot and I'll support the club as I've always done. If you read my later post in the thread, I did make a point of highlighting how impressive he was and to wish him well.
Yeah, to be fair you've said as much in your last few posts, so fair play.

He's here now, let's get behind him.

I watched the press conference, it was everything I expected. He can certainly talk the talk. I hope his teams will be as good on the field as he is off it.

I think he deserves the same level of respect as was given to the previous manager, especially last season.

Good luck in your new job.

Couple of points from that interview:

1. Roy seems keen on "pass and move" and I hope he brings it back. For soooooooooooo long now we've had to watch Liverpool players receiving the ball while stationary and trying to get some momentum going from a standing start each time.

2. I thought he rather dodged the question about working with Kenny. Not sure if that means the great man will be on his way. Incidentally, if Kenny DOES leave now, anybody taking a pop at him over it can kiss my hairy Aston Martin.

Ironic, all the references to Italian football, organisation and discipline. He sounds exactly like Benitez from those descriptions. Or, indeed, Fabio Capello...

Without any of the trophies or success.

Well, I'm excited about the new season ahead, a new manager and hopefully new owners soon enough.

We keep Gerrard and Torres and I'll go into next season feeling quite positive.

(I know he's our manager now and all, but he is a funny looking dude)

Ha. He actually looks quite a bit like a good friend of mine who's a missionary in Zimbabwe. Unfortunately my friend's in his 80s.

great interview from Roy, really looking forward to seeing his Liverpool team.

We must back him 100%.

As for this bollox about him coming from lowly Fulham being a problem, I bet UTD and Arsenal fans were saying the same shite when their managers came from Aberdeen and fucking Grampus Eight !!!

They have not down too bad have they

Ferguson had just won three titles in Scotland and the Cup Winner's Cup.
With Aberdeen, who hadn't won fucking anything for about 30 years.

And he was about 20 years younger than fucking Woy is now.

Cretinous example. What a *surprise*
so the Scottish league is a big whoop but the Swedish league isn't? It's a great example by fox. Better than trying to ridicule it (when as you know it stands up) would be to name the hundreds of other managers appointed who come from obscurity and do fuck all the return to obscurity. Rather than the TWO times when that hasn't been the case.

Again, about an extra 20 years of youth, and also a bloke called David Dein who knew his arse from his fucking elbow when it comes to football and talent.

Roy Hodgson has been a manager for three decades and won nothing.

He should have EXACTLY those players on his "GET FUCKING RID" list

Plus Babel.

Fucking despise every single one of them.

Wash shouldn't be on that list.

It's not his fault he was second choice striker. In reality he should have been about 4th or 5th choice, in which case he's about the right level. Futhermore even if we were to sell him, the money we would get would not buy a better player to replace him.

Leave the kid alone

It was a much bigger "whoop" then, as evidenced by the Cup Winners Cup victory, plus the fact that Ferguson was a young, hungry, fiercely ambitious manager, rather than some old fucking duffer who came 12th last year and has spent most of his career managing part-time fucking yodellers in shit leagues.

But between now and that inevitable day could you not ya know support the new manager and see how we go. We'll still all be agog at your brilliance in a years time honest injuns.

Id sell all bar Aquilani, just because he hasnt fulfilled what he was brought here to do! However, an offer of 15-20 million and that would change!
