Went for a meal on our way home from North Wales last night at the Pant Yr Ochain between Chester and Wrexham, it's a very good pub/restaurant run by a small chain called Brunning and Price, based mainly in Wales but with a few places in the SE, good selection of hand pulled beers too. http://www.brunningandprice.co.uk/pantyrochain/
Anyway I digress, I went for the veggie option, not unheard of , but fairly unusual. It sounded like something I rather fancied, in fact there were two veggie options I quite liked the look of. Thinking about it that is the reason I don't tend to , there is nothing that catches my eye and it's all pretty standard. Thinking about it veggies really have a tough time of it, I don't have that much sympathy for them, but you would think trying to attract omnivores , like me, to something without meat should be much easier than it actually is, and little thought seems to go into none-meat dishes.
I had roast parsnip, chestnut and lentil pie with seasonal veg and roast potatoes.
Do other none veggies often go for the veggie option, are veggies a bit pissed off with rather standard options and lack of thought in their menu? How does the pie sound to fellow omnivores?
regards
