I think Brendan's still a bit insecure. There's a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. And after developing a team that could out pass some major Premier League sides, he's suddenly back watching the Arse do it to his new side. That must niggle, given the sense that so little patience is around while he works to re-build this team as he wishes. So as Sean says, he's talking too much, and trying too hard to inspire a following. I wonder what people thought of Shanks when he was starting - it's tempting to speculate that he, too, preceded his achievements with rather too many bold statements. The TV series is really something we could all do without, IMHO, and Brendan's obligatory participation will only encourage the Brent-like allusions, but I think he just needs some indulgence. It's a tough job,and if he's erring on the side of waffle, it's certainly a higher order of waffle than we had with Hodge.
