I’m fine with that as long as its in our own hands, and that we’re not dependent on other results.

Arsenal all over again ... I don't think my heart or brain could take it. But I do think it will come down to the last match.

That game against Spurs is going to be fucking torture.

After Sunday (which I know we should easily win, but our record there has way too many draws for me to be confident) that Spurs game is the one that has me the most worried, I really hope citeh have lost at least one before we play them.

It's a pity that City don't play their game at OT until Week 35. I'd have preferred it earlier,. If they lose or draw there it would have provided a nice filip sometime in March.

Statistically City have the tougher run in. The teams they face have acquired more points this in total to date. There's not much in it, but I agree with those who say we can only really afford to drop 2 to 3 points and a final day decider against Wolves is very possible.

"The victory came at cost however, with Guardiola confirming De Bruyne came off with a hamstring injury while Stones was substituted as a precaution. With Fernandinho and Aymeric Laporte already sidelined, even a squad as talented as City's is being stretched."

Excellent...

Is all this City won’t drop points thoughts just a defence mechanism? There is still a quarter of the season to go and that squad depth didn’t help win every game in the first 3/4 of the season.

Its people being super objective & logical - City are better than every team they have to play, so will obviously win them all

It ignores two key facts :

1) Liverpool are better than every team we have to play, so by the same logic we will win them all
2) City lost this season against Leicester, Palace & Newcastle - all teams who are worse than them (while our only loss was against a team our equal)

Hahaha. Started to type a reply to this earlier that was almost exactly that response, but got sidetracked. Good man.

We have them.

If we are still within 3 points of them after the Chelsea game then yes its still very possible as their final 4 games are much tougher than ours. We likely need to win the next 5 in a row to make that happen. Something needs to change drastically, havent won 3 league games in a row since December.

Apparently Fulham included an article about Woy in their match day program (https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...m-launch-astonishing-series-swipes-15923069); this should guarantee us the 3 points :-

[article]
“He was given a frosty reception on his subsequent appointment at Liverpool, with fans being unmoved by his success with smaller provincial clubs like Inter Milan,” read the article.
“Realising that Roy was not going to win the league immediately and angered by his failure to buy the world's best players, who would obviously jump at the chance to sign for the team that had dominated Europe a mere three decades earlier, fans quickly lost patience.
“Demonstrating the cool-headed pragmatism that has endeared them to the footballing public, the Liverpool faithful demanded Roy's replacement be an exciting young manager befitting the club's stature.”
The article continued: “Setting the time circuits to 1991, the club's executives piled into the waiting DeLorean and floored it to '88, returning with a fresh-faced and energetic Kenny Dalglish, ready to usher in a new era of dominance spearheaded by future club legend Andy Carroll, a shrewd purchase at just £35m.
“Unfortunately, however, Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney recovered the time machine, went back to 1991, stole the Sports Almanac and brutally laid out Jan Molby at the 'Enchantment Under the Sea' dance.
“This left the club with no option but to drag present day Kenny out of the pub and into the dugout, skewing the timeline and culminating in an underwhelming eight-place finish and Kenny's departure (again).”

That's a rather mean article. Sounds like something we would have posted, if we weren't Liverpool fans.

Just like Woy, fucking tragic

They missed out his wonderful record of something like 33% win rate or that his style of football was tragic. And we signed fucking Poulsen and Konchesky.

In those few sentences is the bitterness mountain built during those decades we monopolized trophies. I can understand the bile finally spilling out, especially if you perceive one of your favourite sons has been slighted. Ditching one of the old boy network isn't the done thing don't you know...
