How expensive/cheap is it where you live?

Here it seems to get pricier by the day. Myself and Mrs. Athens were in a shop the other weekend and she seen a gift for a child, it was a plate, bowl, cup and a couple of spoons. She had bought THE EXACT SAME THING in Ireland last year for a colleague and there it cost 20 euro. Here in Greece it was 33 euro. We nearly died when the girl told us the price.

Electronic goods are a lot more expensive here than in the UK. I can't think of a direct comparison but in the summer we bought an air conditioning unit for 550 euro but still had to pay for the fucking delivery. I said that in Ireland if you paid that much for something they would deliver it for free and the salesman just chuckled.

Clothes are much more expensive, Mrs. Athens generally doesn't go shopping here, preferring to go in Belfast as it's cheaper there and it's easier to find clothes to fit her marvellous rack.

Other pricey things here: Petrol is 1.62 a litre, mouth wash is fucking 9 euro for a bottle.
